Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Tryggestad
Taylor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Taylor Tryggestad, I am 24 years old and I am a professional photographer! I picked up my first camera at the ripe age of 12, and I have been addicted to the photography world ever since. I am the first born and raised Texan in my family, so of course I chose to study at Texas A&M University. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture with a Minor in Urban Planning! As much as I love the Architecture world, my heart and soul yearns to have a camera in hand at all times! Maternity, graduates, pets, families, engagements, you name it – I love to capture it all!!!! After graduating this past May, I decided to uproot and move to Tulsa, Oklahoma to fully pursue wedding photography. It is my absolute dream to capture the essence of love as warm, timeless memories. I am grateful that the Lord has walked alongside me through this journey and led me to where I am today!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to becoming the photographer I am today has been a wonderful process with tons of personal growth. I have not experienced any major hardships; however, I faced challenged within my own heart and mind as I pursued this career. The battle to feel worthy in a profession filled to the brim with talent can be overwhelming at times! It was important to stay true to myself and know that I am gifted in my own ways, and my unique eye and talent can ultimately bring lasting joy to others! It has also been daunting at times to build a name for myself in this industry (and I am still building that name!), but I have been so grateful to meet so many lovely strangers along the way and be able to provide them with lasting, quality memories!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a self-taught photographer, I try and specialize in a little bit of everything! I aspire to be a wedding photographer, but I also believe that what sets me apart from others is that I enjoy every niche of photography. I enjoy capturing the essence of whatever comes my way- maternities, engagements, graduates, etc. Aside for my talent I hope to be known for my kindness and diligence in my profession!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Gosh, many things matter to me! But I would say that what matters to me most is that my images bring joy to those who trust me with capturing their moments and milestones. We live in a society that thrives off of criticism and comparison, so my ultimate goal is to provide people with a service that builds their confidence and allows them to see the beauty they exude- no matter the project!
