Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanette Vargas

Hi Jeanette, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I graduated highschool in 2012, I knew that I wanted to work with skin and all things beauty ! I enrolled into cosmetology school immediately after but it was short lived. I was not a fan of doing hair. I changed career paths mutiple times from vet assisting to nursing and even diagnostic sonography before I finally made the decision to become an Esthetician and follow my true purpose. Right before the whole world shut down in 2020, I told myself that I would start a business one day and finally work for myself. I had a name for it but had no clue what kind of business it would be. That year after surviving covid working in the medical field, I decided to take a leap of faith, I knew the medical field wasn’t for me anymore. I have a passion for caregiving but I needed a change. That’s when I decided to enroll into esthetician school. I was determined to make something of myself for my little family. I was so thankful for my loving husband and children because they gave me the courage to follow my heart. On July 1, 2021 I graduated from Aveda Dallas Institute and following that I started my first job as an esthetician at a spa in Rockwall. That day I made a vow that I would be patient and learn what I needed to learn before I finally could take off on my own no matter how long it took me. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would become my own boss as soon as I did, what started as a side hustle doing lashes to make extra income quickly became my full time job. On August 7, 2024 I opened up Eterno Lash x Beauty at the Rockwall Salons to provide full service from waxing to brow laminations to Lashes. I am so blessed and grateful for the journey that has lead me to were I am now. I take pride in making people feel and look beautiful. I created Eterno to provide a safe space for everyone to feel loved and heard, im not just an esthetician, I am everyones beauty therapist !

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think opening a business is never easy but is definitely rewarding in the end. You never know what road bumps you might hit along the way. I was not prepared for what lied ahead, I lost my previous job the day before I opened up my own suite. I had this idea that I would work at my suite as a side hustle and keep my other job as steady income but God had other plans for me! I had no clue how I was going to maintain my suite on top of everything else at home. My entire family came together to help me when they found out what had happened. They all pitched in to help provide me with all the necessary product I needed to be full service and encouraged me to keep my head up! Now 2 months in and I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for everyone who has supported me on this journey and who continue to support me and push me to be the best version of myself!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
One of the main reasons I decided to name my Business Eterno was because of what that word meant to me. Eterno is the spanish word for eternal. I believe that everyone deserves eternal beauty. I am so proud at how far I have come and the accomplishments that have led me here today. I specialize in lashes and brow laminations. I am passionate about giving people results that enhance their natural beauty. At Eterno I don’t just provide services, I build friendships with my clients and provide a safe space where they can come to me for anything and everything!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when I used to hustle my dad for $20, back then I thought that was alot of money! He would let me give him a pedicure and paint his toes nails any color I wanted! That’s where my love for beauty industry began.
