Meet April Pinto of April Pinto Photography in Denton

Today we’d like to introduce you to April Pinto.

April, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a young girl I saw such magic in nature! I felt closest to God in the trees and walking through the billowing golden stocks of hay at sunset in our back yard. My mind ran rampant with daydreams of explosive color and stories.

I looked forward to Saturday mornings out with my grandmother at consignment stores and antique malls so that I could collect vintage clothing and costumes. I couldn’t wait to adorn my friends and cousins in my treasures so that I could create beautiful scenes to photograph.

My days were spent hunting in the abundance of rural decay in the form of abandoned barns and Vintage trucks that had been organically grown over in vines and ivory or wild flowers in the small town we lived in.

My husband really ignited the fire for me! He encouraged me to stop photographing what people would request…the realtor head shots, the family portraits on white backgrounds that had become so trendy. He encouraged me to do nothing more than to photograph what I was most passionate about, nature and family.

Through no small feat, I have developed a brand all my own. What was once a fun passion and hobby being now the means in which we support our beautiful family. Today, I offer a full boutique of custom vintage gowns as well as accessories and antique lounges, cars, even wild life, stallions, amazing locations and just about anything we can dream up for our clients! I’m so blessed to have clients that seek out our unique point of view to capture their sweet families and memories. COL. 3:14 Most of all let LOVE guide your Life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I LOVE what I do so it has been wildly fun but TONS of hard work, sweat and sacrifice. While establishing my brand and getting our business off the ground, I worked 120-hour weeks and that left little time for friends or family. It paid off and was WELL worth it.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the April Pinto Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a fine art Wedding & Portrait Photographer. I’m most widely known for our magical maternity images, our whimsical and fun engagement sessions and our brilliantly beautiful bridal and Wedding portraits. One thing that truly sets us apart is that we dare to dream! Every single aspect of our images is considered, intentionally and thought out to ensure the highest quality.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe in the Grace and Blessing of God, not luck. 🙂 Hard word, dedication and integrity have landed us where we are today.
