Today we’d like to introduce you to Yakira Picart
Hi Yakira, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Before turning 30, I felt stuck—every day was repetitive, my 8-to-5 job left me unfulfilled, and I felt I had nothing to look forward to. But when I hit 30, everything changed. As an adventurer at heart, I knew it was time to change course. I quit my job, left Texas, and set off with no plans or savings. I traveled with my sister, a traveling nurse, exploring Florida and Virginia for six to seven months. To support myself, I worked as a delivery driver. It wasn’t easy, but I loved every moment of that chapter. When her contracts ended, I felt uncertain about my next steps and fear of the unknown set in. Seeking familiarity, I returned to Texas and pursued what I thought was my dream job—a flight attendant role. The opportunity fell through, but the desire for something more stayed with me. Over the next few months, I explored entrepreneurship, starting a clothing business and a land-flipping venture with my then-boyfriend. Although both businesses failed, the experience taught me valuable skills and gave me the confidence to create and build using what I had learned. On a personal level, I also pushed past the fear of the unknown. I’d always wanted to live on my own, and with the risks I was already taking, I finally took the leap and moved into my first apartment with a friend. A month later, I faced an unexpected challenge—a bed bug infestation from a neighboring unit! For weeks, I struggled to find solutions, barely sleeping in my own bed. That event sparked a passion for cleaning and the idea of helping others overcome similar challenges. I started researching the cleaning industry while gaining hands-on experience helping a friend’s family with their homes. By October 2023, I officially launched Clean Routine Services, a residential cleaning business. The name came from my belief that keeping a clean space can be a habit that brings clarity and balance to everyday life. This chapter has brought me so much joy. I love seeing how a clean and organized space helps my clients feel lighter and more focused. There’s something powerful about how cleaning up a physical space can clear the mind too—it’s all connected. Now, I’m excited to expand into commercial cleaning, specifically focusing on office buildings. This journey has deepened my passion for solving problems, both in my personal life and for my community. I’m eager to experience how Clean Routine Services grows alongside my own personal growth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. The journey has been filled with challenges, but each one has shaped me into who I am today. One of the biggest struggles has been changing old patterns of thinking. I’ve had to “die to myself” in a way—letting go of my old identity to fully embrace constant learning and relearning, both in life and business. I’m still learning till this day. I’ve realized that success starts in the mind. I had to gain new skills, choose my thoughts intentionally, and learn how the mind plays a critical role in achieving goals. Progress isn’t linear, and I’ve learned to accept that. Some of the biggest risks I’ve taken—like leaving my job with no savings, moving into my first apartment with a low income, and starting a business with hardly any money—weren’t easy, but they were necessary. Without those risks, I wouldn’t be where I am today. A huge lesson I’ve learned is that things need to change within me to get to where I’m going. Becoming resilient, persistent, determined, and ambitious has been essential. I’ve also had to become financially aware—there’s been a lot of trial and error as I worked to create stability and learn how to manage my finances effectively. Pursuing business itself is no easy task. It’s required sacrifices, like minimizing time with family and friends to stay focused. I’ve spent long periods in what people call “monk mode,” cutting out distractions to fully commit to my goals. It hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has pushed me closer to becoming the woman I need to be for the future I envision. And while I’ve grown so much, I know the journey of learning and evolving never ends.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What sets Clean Routine apart is our belief that cleaning isn’t just about tidying up your physical space—it’s about clearing your mind, too. At Clean Routine, our mission is to create a sense of clarity by not only cleaning your space but also decluttering your mind. We offer residential cleaning, organizing help, and commercial cleaning, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. But what truly makes us different is that we don’t just clean homes and buildings; we transform them into places of ease and peace. We understand the powerful connection between mental clarity and a clean space. A cluttered home can lead to a cluttered mind, and we’re here to help you eliminate that stress. By bringing order to your environment, we help you think more clearly, reduce brain fog, and make space for what truly matters. That’s what we’re about—helping you align your mindset with your surroundings so you can be the best version of yourself. To our readers: we’re here to make life just a little easier for you. Whether you need help managing your home or workspace, we’d love the opportunity to serve you. And if our services aren’t a fit right now, sharing us with others who might benefit means the world to us. Thank you for supporting a small business that’s dedicated to making a difference, one clean space at a time.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The Covid-19 crisis taught me some of the most valuable lessons about life, resilience, and self-discovery. Like many others, I realized that so much of what we rely on—our jobs, routines, and even our sense of stability—can change in an instant. Nothing is guaranteed, and that can be both unsettling and freeing. One of the biggest takeaways for me was understanding just how important it is to nurture the relationship you have with yourself. The pandemic forced us to step away from the constant noise of daily life—family, friends, and social obligations—and spend more time alone. While that was challenging, it also created space for reflection. I took that time to really look inward and think about who I am, what I want, and what I’m capable of. It was inspiring to see how many people did the same, discovering their creativity and realizing they could pursue passions they’d put on hold. The crisis reminded us all that we’re meant to create and contribute in ways that feel meaningful, no matter where we come from or what we’ve been through. It’s a gift we all have, though it often takes moments of stillness to uncover it. For me, that period of reflection solidified a deeper understanding of myself and my potential. It was a challenging time, but it also offered clarity and growth, which I carry with me as I continue to build my life and business.
