Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Waechter
Hi Simone, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was always playing around with a camera since I was in middle school. My interest into it started younger; when i was living with my grandfather. He was a retired vet during Vietnam. He found joy in landscape photography. However, 2019 I officially bought my own camera. I fell in love with taking portraits of my children when we were living in North Carolina. During covid, I branched out and started taking photos of families when we were all stuck inside. Then in 2021 I moved to North Dallas. I realized that I was getting bored of doing family photos constantly and needed more variety. Since I was new to the area and did not know anyone, I took it as a chance to start having a more creative approach to my work. I was really depressed during the time but creative portraits helped me push through everything I was going through. I eventually started working with models in the Dallas area. I was a creative director in most of the shoots I did and eventually started to network with the creative community here. The networking lead to meeting clients for weddings as well. Weddings made me fall in love with photography again.
Eventually in 2023, my family moved to Waxahachie for my husband’s job. I had to renetwork. I got involved with my work teaching and my church. Building community and clientele.
It’s been slow due to having a baby in 2024. I’ve been taking my time. But fall 2025 I will be ready to start shooting weddings again. As for the beginning of it and on forward, I’ll be sticking to elopements. Maybe this year I’ll do a few creative projects! Stay tuned for that!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. The road has been nothing but bumpy. I struggled with managing my family and clients! Trying to work around everyone’s schedule. Also since I breastfeed, I baby carry my youngest. So working around that, I’m typically arriving pretty early to feed before a shoot. I struggled with motivation sometimes. I’m trying to improve that. I think I get in my head to much, but as soon as I start shooting a session its like a rush. I get so excited!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a wedding & creative photographer in the Dallas Fort Worth area. I’m known for my warm and dreamy style. Specializing in natural light and storytelling. I’m very proud of how far I’ve come since moving to Dallas in 2021. I would not believe I was booking weddings and working with so many creatives. I really love telling your story. I also offer styling guides to help get your ideal look for your photos. For the the creative side, I offer a mix of fashion and nature editorial looks.
