Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Danielle Hatcher
Hi Elizabeth Danielle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is as cliché as it sounds, I have loved photography since I was a kid, walking around with my film camera taking photos of my siblings, friends and animals whenever I could. Fast forward to today and I ventured back out pursuing my love for photography after taking a break from taking photos for fun during a battle with cancer. It took my sisters (who are both a successful wedding photographer and videographer) pushing me about three years ago to put myself out there and make photography my main profession as a way to provide for my boys. I want my boys to see that you can pursue what sets your soul on fire and make a career out of it. Since then I haven’t looked back. I absolutely love what I do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think with a profession like photography it has its highs and lows. Never have I lost my love for capturing photos for people. But there are moments where self doubt, comparison and imposter syndrome take over. Those seasons really make you reevaluate your art. Wondering if I am good enough at what I do, if what I do makes a difference. I think all artist have moments like that.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional lifestyle photographer, I am know for my candid, authentic approach to photographing families, newborns, engagements and more. My style is earthy and natural. I love a good golden hour session.
I am most proud of the relationships I have made with my clients. The greatest gift is clients who return year after year. Watching their families grow and change. Documenting so many precious core memories for them. That is what I am most proud of.
What sets me apart from others is a hard question, there are so many talented people in my profession who I admire so much. I guess what sets me apart is that I genuinely love documenting peoples milestones in life. It brings me such joy to see the excitement my clients have when they receive their galleries. There isn’t much that makes me happier.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Haha. Growing up I was emotional, dramatic, very sensitive. I was very loyal, almost to a fault. My interest were reading, drawing, painting, music and photography. I was always obsessed with something, whether it was a band, a book series etc. I guess I was very passionate about my hobbies and interest.
