Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyndall Brown
Hi Kyndall, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started in South Dallas, also known as Queen City—a place I love but often feel is overlooked. Growing up as a teen mom, I had my share of challenges, but I stayed determined. Graduating college this past December felt like such a victory because it symbolized not just personal growth but breaking stereotypes and proving to myself that I could succeed despite the odds.
The loss of my cousin was a turning point for me. It taught me that waiting for opportunities isn’t enough—I had to create them. That mindset shift motivated me to build something meaningful, not just for myself but as a legacy for my daughter and other girls who feel unseen. I’ve leaned heavily on my faith in God, learning to practice gratitude in all seasons, not just the good ones.
Through all the highs and lows, from battling depression to seeing my creativity flourish, I’ve realized that success is a marathon, not a race. I draw inspiration from turning my Pinterest board dreams into reality and use my story to represent girls who feel overlooked. Strangers have often been my biggest supporters, and that has fueled my passion for uplifting others. Every step I’ve taken has been about creating opportunities, being unapologetically authentic, and becoming the role model I want my daughter to see.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Life has thrown me more than a few challenges, but each of them has shaped who I am today.
One of the hardest struggles was losing family members who were my anchors. Their absence left a deep void, and I’ve had to learn to carry on while honoring their memories. On top of that, I’ve battled sickle-cell anemia, which has put me in the hospital more times than I can count. The physical pain is one thing, but the emotional toll of feeling like you’re missing out on life or constantly having to fight to stay healthy can be overwhelming.
Heartbreak has also been a part of my journey—whether in relationships or from situations where I felt let down by people I trusted. Each of these moments tested my resilience and forced me to rebuild myself from the ground up.
Despite these struggles, I’ve learned to lean on my faith and focus on gratitude. Every challenge has taught me something valuable about myself and the strength I never knew I had.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What sets me apart is my ability to channel life’s challenges—what I call “negative energy”—into creative energy, much like a process of human photosynthesis. I take the difficulties, pain, and moments of feeling unseen and transform them into something meaningful, whether it’s through @iamsoultalk_, where conversations spark healing, @kyndallsgallery, where visions come to life, or @s.o.u.lthebrand, which empowers others to embrace their authentic selves. This unique process allows me to create art and opportunities that not only inspire but also reflect the resilience and light found in even the darkest moments.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that sustaining your blessings requires both mental endurance and discipline. It’s not just about achieving something but having the strength and strategy to maintain it. I’ve also learned the importance of placing people in a social hierarchy—understanding who adds value, who drains energy, and aligning accordingly. Success isn’t meant to be easy; if it were, everyone would do it. But the challenges are what shape you, and overcoming them is what truly sets you apart.
