Hi ruba, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started taking pictures with my sister when we got our first camera as kids. I’ve always loved photography, but it wasn’t until I got to college and took several photography courses that I really started to learn the ins and outs, especially around lighting and the technical side of things. Over the past five years, I’ve honed my skills and developed a deep love for the craft. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph all ages— from babies as young as a day old to high school and college graduates, and even grandparents. While I’ve enjoyed all types of photography, it wasn’t until 2022, when my son was born, that I truly fell in love with newborn photography. My sister actually took my son’s pictures when he was born, and that experience was so special. It really sparked my passion for capturing those precious early moments, and now, newborn photography has become a focus I absolutely love.
Motivated by my sister and my husband, I decided to take the leap and start my own photography business, Gentle Glances. Since then, It’s been such a rewarding journey, and I feel so fortunate to capture these milestones and memories for families. I’m excited to continue growing in this field and to see where it takes me!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road, but it’s definitely been a rewarding one. I started taking newborn pictures in a small community where there weren’t a lot of people who were initially interested in getting professional photos done. That posed a bit of a challenge in the beginning, as building a client base took time. However, I absolutely loved the clients I did have the chance to work with. Every session was so fulfilling. I loved seeing the smiles of the parents and babies, and the whole atmosphere of the studio—parents laughing and playing with their kids—was so rewarding and uplifting. Those moments made it all worth it, and I’m so grateful for every opportunity to capture those memories. Even though the road hasn’t always been easy, the joy that comes from helping families preserve their precious moments keeps me going.

I specialize in newborn photography, focusing on capturing those precious early moments that parents want to cherish forever. Whether it’s a newborn’s tiny fingers or the way parents lovingly gaze at their little one, I love freezing those memories in time. What I’m most proud of is the connections I build with my clients—it’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about creating an atmosphere where families can relax, laugh, and truly enjoy their time together. Seeing the joy on parents’ faces when they see the final images is something I treasure deeply.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with my clients on a personal level, making them feel comfortable and at ease during their sessions. I take the time to understand their vision, which helps me create a session that truly reflects their unique family dynamic. My experience spans beyond newborns to high school and college graduates, as well as grandparents, which allows me to bring a diverse perspective to every session.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I remember making piñatas with my cousins during the summer. We would get creative, crafting them by hand, and then sell them to our neighbors. It was such a fun and entrepreneurial experience, spending time together, laughing, and using our imaginations to create something special. It felt like a real accomplishment when we’d see our piñatas hung up at parties or events. Those moments of teamwork and creativity are memories I’ll always cherish!
