Life & Work with Lacey Watts of Rockwall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Watts.

Hi Lacey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Lacey Watts brought her personal brand, Savor & Shine, to life after being unexpectedly laid off during the pandemic—a turning point that sparked her entrepreneurial journey. Initially, she launched a seasonal Christmas décor business in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, transforming office lobbies into festive spaces and spreading holiday cheer to tenants. While the business was a success, Lacey recognized its limitations as a sustainable year-round venture. Drawing from her deeper passion for cooking and entertaining, she shifted her focus to what truly brought her joy: creating warm, welcoming gatherings around the table. With Savor & Shine, Lacey blended her love of hospitality and good food, aiming to make entertaining effortless and meaningful for others, just as it had always been for her.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since launching Savor & Shine in the summer of 2024, one of the biggest challenges Lacey has faced is navigating the ever-evolving world of Instagram. As a new brand, building a presence in such a fast-paced digital space has been both exciting and occasionally overwhelming. From shifting algorithms to staying current with trends and best practices, the learning curve has been steep. But like any great host, Lacey is committed to showing up with heart and intention—adapting, experimenting, and staying authentic in the process, all while continuing to grow a community that values warmth, good food, and meaningful connection.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What Lacey loves most about her work with Savor & Shine is the opportunity to create moments of connection—whether it’s through a simple weeknight dinner or a beautifully set table for friends. Unlike many food and recipe bloggers, Lacey’s focus isn’t just on the food itself, but on how it brings people together. Her heart is in making hospitality feel approachable, warm, and stress-free—bringing a sense of ease and joy to entertaining. With her unique blend of thoughtful hosting tips, comforting recipes, and genuine storytelling, Lacey invites others not just to cook, but to savor the everyday and shine in the moments that matter most.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes Lacey happiest is being surrounded by her family—her husband, their daughter, and their two beloved dogs, Marley and Brinkley. For Lacey, happiness is found in love, good food, and creating a home where everyone feels welcome and cared for.
