Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Johnson.
Lexi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Illinois as the oldest of three, so being the “big sister” type has always come naturally to me. I’ve always had a passion for sharing advice and life lessons, whether it was with my siblings or friends. Over time, I realized how many people were looking for that same kind of guidance, and it made me want to step into that role on social media too. I started sharing tips on mindset, beauty, and lifestyle—basically, everything I wish an older sister would’ve told me when I was younger. It became a way to connect with others and offer that kind of support, even though I didn’t have an older sister myself.
At 21, Tu’Ron (my now husband) and I did something kind of crazy… we packed up, moved across the country, and quit our 9-5s to chase the dream of working for ourselves. It was scary, but easily the best decision we’ve ever made.
Now, I’m a full-time content creator and coach. I create content for brands—whether it’s organic posts or ads—to help them hit their goals, whether that’s building a community or driving sales. I’ve had the privilege of working with over 100 brands, including CeraVe, Colgate, Nexxus, and B&B Theatres, creating content that really connects with their audience. Whether it’s paid ads, in-person shoots, or creative strategy, I love figuring out how to make content that works and delivers results.
I also coach many other creators at Brands Meet Creators, where I get to work with an awesome team of coaches to help creators level up their content on platforms like UGC, TikTokShop, Amazon, and more. Honestly, watching creators crush their goals and find success is so rewarding for me, and it pushes me to keep growing and leveling up myself too.
At the same time, Tu’Ron and I create relationship content together—keeping it real about love, marriage, and all the things that come with it. We love showing up as ourselves and helping other couples feel seen.
It’s been two years since we took that big leap, and looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Now, through my platforms, I get to share everything from mindset shifts to beauty finds to real-life moments that remind people they’re not alone. Plus, I’m proud to say we hit over 33 million views in 2024 alone and are already aiming to crush that goal this year. We’ve worked with some amazing brands, and it’s been such a rewarding journey. I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and sharing the lessons along the way. <3
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and there have been plenty of challenges along the way. In the beginning, when Tu’Ron and I made the leap from our 9-5s to entrepreneurship, we had no idea what to expect. It was a lot of trial and error, figuring things out as we went along. We had moments of doubt, questioning if we made the right choice, and struggled to find a balance between work and personal life. The uncertainty felt overwhelming at times, especially when we were building everything from scratch.
Another challenge has been navigating the creative world. Finding my unique voice, building meaningful relationships with brands, and figuring out how to stand out in such a fast-paced industry has been a learning process. There were times when I felt lost or unsure of my direction, but slowly, I figured out how to connect with my audience and create content that felt authentic to me.
The biggest lesson has been realizing that the hard parts are just stepping stones to growth. Every struggle we’ve faced has shaped us into who we are today, and looking back, it’s all truly been worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create content and ads that consumers actually want to watch by making them relatable and real. Instead of the typical “salesy” approach, I focus on crafting authentic stories that connect with the audience on a personal level. It’s about understanding what resonates with them—whether it’s through humor, emotion, or real-life experiences—and bringing that into every piece of content. The goal is to make people feel like they’re watching something made just for them, which not only captures their attention but also drives real engagement.
I specialize in creating UGC content and developing creative strategies that help brands elevate their social media presence and authentically connect with their audience. Whether it’s through organic content, paid ads, or in-person photoshoots, my focus is on creating engaging, real content that feels personal and resonates with people. I work closely with brands to understand their audience and craft content that aligns with their voice while driving real results.
What sets me apart is my genuine investment in every brand partnership. When I work with a brand, I’m fully committed to its success and take the time to understand what will work best for their audience. It’s about fostering a true collaboration to ensure we create content that’s not only creative but also effective.
I’m incredibly proud of hitting over 33 million views in 2024 alone and am aiming to surpass that this year. Another thing I’m proud of is the content I create with my husband, Tu’Ron. We’ve been creating couple’s content for over 5 years, sharing real, relatable moments and relationship advice. It’s been a joy to help other couples navigate their own journeys while building a unique space for our audience to feel seen and understood.
In addition to my work as a content creator, I also coach other creators at Brands Meet Creators, where we offer courses, live calls, and a supportive community. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others find success and see them grow in their own journeys.
Ultimately, what makes my work stand out is my commitment to authenticity, the care I put into every collaboration, and my ability to blend creativity with strategy to deliver meaningful results.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The journey has taught me that success doesn’t happen overnight. The people you see doing well, the ones you admire, are the same ones who were grinding away when no one was looking. It’s easy to get caught up in the highlight reels, but the real work happens in the quiet moments. It’s about doing the hard, sometimes boring stuff day in and day out, even when it feels like you’re not getting anywhere. That’s what builds the foundation for real success in anything you want to do. It’s all about patience, consistency, and trusting the process—even when it doesn’t feel exciting.
