Hi Djz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
What began as a simple get-together among friends with a shared love for sound quickly evolved into something far more powerful — a movement. From living room sessions and backyard jams, we’ve grown into an electrifying entertainment group with a vibrant and loyal community that brings energy, love, and rhythm to every event we host.
While our heartbeat lies in Afrobeats and Amapiano, we pride ourselves on our versatility and ability to blend all genres into sets that are seamless, inclusive, and unforgettable. This openness has allowed us to connect with a diverse audience and foster a sense of belonging wherever we play.
Our journey is rooted in authenticity, culture, and an unshakeable desire to create experiences that move people — not just physically on the dance floor, but emotionally through connection and shared vibes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most passionate journeys, the road for Bhovybez Entertainment Group has been anything but smooth — but every challenge has played a vital role in shaping who we are today.
In the early days, our biggest hurdles were resources and visibility. We started with minimal equipment, self-funded setups, and the challenge of getting our name out into a competitive entertainment scene. As five individuals with full-time commitments outside of music, finding time to align schedules and balance personal lives with our shared vision required real sacrifice.
Another challenge was gaining recognition without compromising authenticity. As a group representing Zimbabwean roots while promoting sounds like Afrobeats and Amapiano — genres more traditionally associated with West and South Africa — we had to work twice as hard to prove our voice mattered in that space. But that’s exactly what drove us: showing up with heart, precision, and originality.
We’ve also faced the natural growing pains of turning a friendship-based collective into a structured entertainment brand — learning how to make decisions collectively, manage expectations, and scale without losing the vibe that made people love us in the first place.
Despite the obstacles, we’ve always leaned on our unity, passion, and the energy of the community that believed in us. Every setback taught us resilience, and every challenge strengthened our bond.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come — and even more excited about where we’re headed.

At our core, we are curators of unforgettable experiences through music. As a collective of five Zimbabwean DJs — DJ Chiang, DJ Bond, DJ Bidza, DJ Benten, and DJ Tirow — we specialize in live DJ sets that blend the sounds of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, House, Hip-Hop, Afrohouse, and more, creating a sonic journey that resonates with diverse crowds.
We’re known for our high-energy sets, tight chemistry behind the decks, and an ability to read and transform any room — from intimate lounges to massive festival stages. What sets us apart is how we seamlessly integrate multiple genres while staying rooted in African rhythm and culture. Each DJ brings their own flavor and style, but together, we create a vibe that is unmistakably Bhovybez.
We also take pride in our role as cultural ambassadors — repping not just Zimbabwean pride, but the wider African diaspora by creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated.
One of our proudest achievements is building a loyal and growing community of supporters who don’t just attend our events — they bring the energy, they spread the word, and they fuel our vision. That organic growth and connection is something money can’t buy, and it’s what keeps us motivated.
Ultimately, Bhovybez is more than just music. We’re storytellers, mood-setters, and culture-shapers — and we’re only getting started.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Harare, Zimbabwe, each member of Bhovybez Entertainment Group was surrounded by a rich tapestry of sound, culture, and community. From an early age, music was more than just background noise — it was a way of life. We were shaped by everything from local legends like Oliver Mtukudzi and Stunner to international icons across genres like Hip-Hop, Dancehall, House, and Afrobeats. That blend of global and local rhythm helped form the diverse sound you hear from us today.
Personality-wise, we were a lively and curious group — always full of energy, cracking jokes, and finding any excuse to gather, play music, or kick around a ball. In fact, we’ve always had a deep love for soccer — with three out of five of us being die-hard Manchester United fans (and not afraid to debate about it!). The same passion we had for the game we carried into our love for music and performance.
What’s remained constant through the years is our shared love for celebrating life, creating lasting memories, and building unforgettable experiences for the people around us. Whether it was small house parties back then or full-scale events today, that joy of bringing people together has always been at our core.
