Daily Inspiration: Meet Melodie Hernandez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melodie Hernandez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been drawn to the beauty in everyday moments. Whether it was snapping candid photos on my phone, editing little videos, or experimenting with music and art, creativity has always been my outlet. Even as a kid, I found so much joy in capturing those fleeting memories—moments with friends and family that, thanks to a photo or a short clip, I can now relive again and again. That love for storytelling through visuals never really left me.

About a year ago, I decided to take a leap and turn that lifelong passion into something more intentional—and that’s when MJH Snapshots came to life. What began as a simple love for photography quickly grew into a deeper mission: to help others preserve their own special moments, just like I always loved doing for myself.

Now, I’m entering an exciting new chapter as I evolve my brand into MJH Media Co. This transition marks a big step toward my dream of creating heartfelt, meaningful content—especially within the world of weddings and romantic storytelling. As someone who has always been a bit of a romantic at heart, it feels like the most natural progression and such a fulfilling space to pour my energy into.

On the professional side, I bring over five years of experience in social media marketing, which has given me a strong foundation in both strategy and storytelling. Blending that background with my creative vision allows me to approach content not just from an artistic standpoint, but also with intention and purpose. It’s not just about making things look beautiful—it’s about capturing a feeling, a moment, a memory that truly lasts.

This journey has been both humbling and energizing, and I’m genuinely so excited for what’s to come. I can’t wait to continue growing, connecting with incredible people, and creating magic along the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—it’s been more of a winding journey with highs, lows, and plenty of lessons in between. There were times I questioned if I was doing enough, especially in a space that feels so saturated and competitive. From figuring out my editing style to navigating imposter syndrome and falling into comparison, it was easy to feel the weight of self-doubt.

I also faced the challenges that come with wearing all the hats—balancing creativity with the business side of things, setting boundaries, and learning to advocate for the value of my work. There were moments where I felt overwhelmed or unsure of the next step, but I kept showing up, even when it felt hard.

Through it all, I’ve really had to lean into patience and trust—not just in the process, but in God’s timing. There were so many moments that didn’t make sense at the time, but looking back, I can see how they were shaping me and preparing me for the next step. I’m incredibly thankful for that guidance, even when it came in quiet or unexpected ways.

Each challenge pushed me to grow, to stay grounded in my “why,” and to focus on creating work that’s meaningful, not just trendy. It’s all been part of refining not only my craft, but also my confidence and purpose. The road hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for the growth—and for the grace that carried me through it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now, I specialize in photography and wedding content creation through my brand, MJH Media Co. My work is all about capturing genuine, heartfelt moments in a way that feels creative, natural, and full of intention. Whether I’m behind the camera or filming behind-the-scenes content, my goal is to preserve the real, in-between moments—the ones that tell the full, honest story.

Over the past year, I’ve poured so much time and heart into refining my style—something I’m really proud of. I’ve always been drawn to warm, nostalgic visuals that evoke emotion and memory. It’s been a journey to find and own that aesthetic, but now I approach every shoot with a clearer artistic voice and a deep sense of purpose.

With MJH Media Co., I’ve stepped fully into the wedding space—offering real-time, documentary-style, emotion-filled content for couples that complements their professional photography. As someone who’s always been a romantic at heart, this work feels like such a natural extension of who I am. I love capturing the quiet, joyful, unscripted moments: the anticipation before walking down the aisle, the teary-eyed glances, the laughter with friends in between events. Those are the memories that often mean the most, and I feel so honored to document them.

What sets me apart is the heart and intentionality I bring to everything I create. I’m not just showing up to shoot content—I’m showing up to serve, to connect, and to tell meaningful stories with care. With a background in social media marketing, I also bring a strategic eye to my work, which helps me deliver content that feels both beautiful and impactful.

Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of how far things have come in such a short time. There were definitely moments of doubt, comparison, and wondering if I was “enough” in such a crowded space. But what’s carried me through it all is a deep trust in God’s timing and guidance. Every open door, every learning curve, every client who’s crossed my path—it’s all part of something bigger than me, and I don’t take that lightly.

My support system has been a huge part of this journey. From the unwavering encouragement of my parents and friends, to the quiet strength I’ve found in prayer and faith—I’m genuinely so grateful. God has been my constant, especially in moments when things felt unclear or overwhelming. He’s reminded me again and again to stay faithful, stay present, and keep creating with purpose.

This new chapter with MJH Media Co. has already brought so much growth and fulfillment, and I know it’s just the beginning. I’m so excited for what’s ahead—more love stories, more real moments, more opportunities to create magic!

What’s next?
One of the biggest changes I’ve been looking forward to is the official launch of MJH Media Co., which marks a new chapter as I expand beyond photography and into full wedding content creation. As of July 19th, I’ve officially added this service to my offerings, and I couldn’t be more excited about it!

This shift from MJH Snapshots to MJH Media Co. is more than just a name change—it represents a deeper alignment with my passion and purpose. With my background in social media marketing and my love for storytelling and romance, it feels incredibly natural to step into this space. I’m now offering real-time, behind-the-scenes content for weddings—capturing those candid, emotional, often-overlooked moments that couples don’t always get to see on their big day.

I’m especially excited about being able to merge creativity with strategy—providing couples with meaningful, high-quality content they can relive right away and share with loved ones. Whether it’s the excitement of getting ready, the tears during a quiet moment, or the joy that unfolds in between the formalities, my goal is to preserve it all with care and intention.

Looking ahead, I’m focused on continuing to grow MJH Media Co.—refining my services, working with amazing couples, and staying grounded in the heart behind what I do. There’s so much to look forward to, and I’m so grateful to be building something that allows me to do what I love while serving others in such a meaningful way.
