Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Womack.
Hi Olivia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story started in middle school in my room, pretending to film makeup tutorials and skincare videos for my nonexistent Youtube. I was enthralled by the beauty space online and had to have the latest and greatest of all the skincare and makeup. To me, it was an art; a form of expression.
Out of high school I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do, but I got the opportunity to work the front desk at a medical spa. I knew I had a love for beauty, health, and skincare so I jumped on the opportunity, not quite knowing what the medical aesthetic industry entailed. I quickly learned and fell in love. I was surrounded by the newest and most innovative technology and skincare. I didn’t even know an esthetician license existed, let alone proper school to attain it.
Soon after starting at the medical spa I put myself through esthetic school and obtained my license. The fact that I could learn and make a living off of my first love, educate others, and help them to feel more confident was a dream come true. My days became very long and sometimes grueling, but it was completely worth it.
Now, I have my dream job at Haute Beauty. With our plethora of quality treatments and skincare, I get to educate and treat my lovely clients everyday. There is absolutely nothing more gratifying than helping someone to feel more confident. I love the relationships that I build and the atmosphere we’ve cultivated. In addition to esthetics, I’ve built an online presence to educate others on skincare, beauty, and wellness.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not always easy. I put myself through esthetician school while working full-time, so some days I wouldn’t get home until 9 or 10 o’clock at night and do it all again the next day. Some days I felt burnt out, stressed, and overwhelmed, but I stayed the course and worked hard. The vision I had for myself and where I’d end up continually reworked itself but I knew in my core that I ultimately just wanted to help others in the sphere of medical aesthetics.
Now, with doing social media in addition, I have my days where I feel burnout or I’m not in the mood, but again, it’s something that fulfills me creatively and allows me to add value. I’m grateful every day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed esthetician at Haute Beauty Aesthetics, a medical spa. I have vast knowledge in treating skin concerns. I specialize in anti-aging treatments that target sun damage, hyperpigmentation, textural issues, fine lines/wrinkles, elasticity, etc. I work with medical grade skincare protocols and treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels, Hydrafacials, and more.
What sets me apart from others and what I’m most proud of is my knowledge and integrity. I take pride in my work and prioritize building strong relationships with my clients. I get to the root of the problem rather than selling you on a bunch of stuff you don’t need. I take a holistic and clinical approach. I know that achieving the results we want is more than just a product or service, it’s taking a look at the individual as a whole. I value educating my clients on why we’re doing certain treatments or why I’m recommending a protocol. I take pride in the results we get and maintaining results-driven, corrective work.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the community and spark of our city. There’s something for everyone. There are unique spots, hidden gems, plenty of live music, business districts balanced with sprawling, spunky architecture. I love the diversity of the businesses here and the community cultivated within them. Especially now, we’re evolving and adding even more. There’s a strong sense of pride in our city.
I’d say the only downside is the traffic and construction but that comes with the territory of an ever-evolving city.
