Charlie Bui of Dallas – Fort Worth on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Charlie Bui. Check out our conversation below.

Charlie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I normally wake up around 5am, 1st thing in the morning I will make a cup of coffee, then journal my day with 3 things I have to do today to live fully and better than myself yesterday. then I read my favorite books of investing and financing. after that I will exercise either running, pushing, stretching to start my day right.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Charlie Bui; I’m a real estate agent now, Alex and I have a real estate team of 9 members and back office we have 6 members to take care of the business, the thing makes us different is our team culture very strong to provide the best customer service, transparency, hard work and always be there for clients whenever they need us. on my side of my personal I really believe in everything happening now is just a challenge to help myself improved, for what I want I have to have an equal ability to handle it, thinking positively even in a tough situation, that I apply to my real estate business and always find an optimal solution for my clients and never give up if I don’t try it yet.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment shaped me to see a new world actually when I was able to feel a disadvantage of being poor, I was born in a poor family, and I always had a thought to work harder to become richer, and when I got a chance to go to the USA, I felt this was my chance and BrandNew opportunity for me to explore to learn, accumulated experience and I could see clearly what I had to do next, for example to do other jobs such as restaurant server, construction guy, nail technician to learn and use those experiences, customer service to apply on my career of real estate.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Again, if I could say one thing to my younger 20s, Charlie just does it, learn more, read more and don’t be afraid to try a new thing, break the standards when everyone thinks is impossible, learn to save more money when you could make a lot of money, save it for a big thing later in your life.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
This is very interesting question about my real estate career, first thing to see when people think about real estate is the easy commission money they get, but it’s not really is, it’s a hard-working time to improve your ability, competence to help your client’s the best interest. Secondly is people think we just need to work a few hours per day or a week and still want to earn a lot from Real estate, that’s not going to happen because this one is the real business, you are an entrepreneur to take care, maintain of your business, this business is a tough 24-hour sport to spend so much time to get to the level you want it to be and everything takes time, it doesn’t happen overnight. Lastly a lot of people see this business- real estate agent just a side-hustle, seasonal job, a new hobby, I don’t really believe it, this one is one of the toughest jobs you have ever done in your career to take care of it like a real manager, you have really stay consistent every single day to accumulate it for years, spend most of your time to grow it, so if you want something big in Real Estate, devote yourself completely for it and do it consistently.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply about Discipline will lead anyone goes really far in their business, it will require a consistency, strong mindset in a strong healthy body to achieve success and goals in life. yes, everyone knows about it but very few people are willing to sacrifice some parts of their laziness, procrastination to focus discipline, consistency, because your goals, your success will take a long journey to get there.
