Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodney Gatson.
Hi Rodney, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story really starts with some tough moments in life. Losing my mother was a turning point for me it forced me to take a hard look at myself and the direction I was headed. I’ve taken my share of ‘nails’ in life, but those challenges shaped me and gave me perspective. When I became a parent, that really deepened my desire to do better, not just for myself but for my kids.
At the same time, I’ve always had this passion for helping people. Over time, I realized that if I could take my personal experiences the losses, the lessons, and the drive to create a better future and channel them into a career where I could guide others, then I’d really be living out that passion. That’s what led me here: taking those challenges and turning them into motivation to help others secure and protect what matters most in their lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road. I’ve gone through losing close friends, disputes within my family that set me back, falling out with people I thought I could depend on, even having cars repossessed and stretches where I was living paycheck to paycheck with no stable income.
Those experiences weren’t easy, but they gave me perspective. They taught me how fragile financial stability can be when life hits, and how quickly things can unravel without a plan. That’s a big reason why I became so passionate about helping people protect themselves and their families. I don’t just talk theory I’ve lived the struggle, and I know how powerful it is to have the right foundation in place. Now, I use those lessons to guide others so they don’t have to go through what I went through.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as being at a point in your life when you have done everything you needed to not want but needed to which is set up a value based system , protect what matters most and start a legacy foundation, continuous learning, proper etiquette and financial hygiene and overall when you have completely bought back your time and the funny thing about that is only you would know because success isn’t defined by what someone has but more on the actions of that individual.
