Meet Jeanette Chivvis of Serenity Springs Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanette Chivvis.

Hi Jeanette, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m Jeanette Chivvis. I began my professional life as a celebrity stylist in Los Angeles and Dallas, where I learned to build trust quickly, read what people need even when they can’t say it, and manage high-stakes client relationships with creativity and calm. Today I run Serenity Springs Wellness and Counseling Group, which I launched in 2025.

In 2020 I felt a strong pull toward deeper, more lasting impact. I returned to school and earned my master’s in mental health counseling from Liberty University. The pivot came from wanting to help people in ways that create long-term wellbeing rather than short-term transformation.

After graduating in 2023 I opened a solo counseling practice to put my training into action. As demand and my vision grew, I launched Serenity Springs Wellness and Counseling Group in 2025.

in 2025 I also added most major insurances to the practice to increase access for clients across ages and backgrounds. That decision was about reducing financial barriers and making care easier to reach for more people.

We serve kids, teens, adults, and couples. My team and I use a holistic mind–body–spirit perspective combined with eclectic clinical tools. We emphasize measurable, solutions-based outcomes so clients can see real progress from intake through treatment planning.

Styling taught me client-centered service, design thinking, and how to hold a calm presence in high-pressure situations. Those skills translate directly into clinical rapport, practice design, and how I build team culture and systems that support reliable, compassionate care.

I’m focused on growing access to holistic care, refining measurable outcomes across the team, and building partnerships that help more people connect with lasting wellness.

Building this practice has been equal parts clinical work and small-business leadership. I’m proud of the accessibility steps we’ve taken — including adding major insurers — and excited to keep expanding both reach and quality of care.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Walking away from a thriving career with Chivvistyles but going back to school to get your masters later in life isn’t easy for sure.

I was finishing my last semester, seeing a full caseload of clients in my internship and needing to take my licensing certification while my father was dying of cancer. He died 4 days before I graduated. However, he had his masters as well, so he knew I had finished my course work and was going to graduate and wanted to celebrate with eating ice cream before he passed. He told me he was proud of me as I was the only other one in the family that had attained a masters like him. That was great encouragement but extremely hard to finish and graduate while seeing clients in my internship.

Being fully cash pay in my solo practice for two years. Keeping a full caseload to pay your bills and yourself without being in insurance directories. You can’t take insurance until you have 3000 hours with clients and indirectly, so it took me 2.5 years to get my full license and to take insurance.

Taking care of my 4 children and having my own business is tough as well.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
