Meet Jarell Rebar of Innovations Carpentry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarell Rebar.

Hi Jarell, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Innovations Carpentry started about five years ago, almost by accident. I was working as a commercial project manager and had just accepted a new position at a larger company. The day before my orientation, the offer was rescinded due to COVID. I had just purchased my first home and didn’t know what to do.

With everything shut down, I went back to what I grew up doing, carpentry. It felt natural to pick up the tools again. What started as a way to get by quickly turned into a full-time business built on craftsmanship, creativity, and honesty.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I started out working out of my car, moving jobsite boxes in and out every day. As the business grew and I started making a little more money, I bought a truck and then a trailer. Not long after, both were stolen, leaving me completely wiped out.

With the support of my wife and family, I got back on our feet and kept going. Over time, we grew from relying on subs to building a solid team of full-time employees. Every challenge pushed me to get stronger and more intentional about the kind of company I wanted to be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Innovations Carpentry?
Innovations Carpentry specializes in luxury trim carpentry and custom cabinetry. We partner with designers, general contractors and homeowners to bring their visions to life with precision and creativity. Our focus is on craftsmanship, clean details, quality materials, and a finished product that speaks for itself.

What sets us apart is our commitment to doing things the right way. We’re honest, detail-oriented, and take pride in our work. Every project, no matter the size, receives the same level of care and attention.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. We won’t the contractor of the year award last year. We have grown our social media drastically. We’ve grown through word of mouth, networking, and social media. NARI has also been a huge influence in how we operate and continue to refine our standards.

At the end of the day, we don’t just build pieces, we build with pride and craftsmanship.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is working on my god father’s ranch in Texas. As a young kid my brother and I would spend summers in Texas working on the ranch. He would teach us how to cook our own meals, do our laundry, fix things on the ranch (welding, mowing, moving hay, moving horses and cattle). I learned everything from foundation to finishing out a home. He taught me how to have a good work ethic
