Exploring Life & Business with Mr. Keith & Dr. Katandria Love Demps of Dr. Love’s Integrative Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine, PLLC, dba KLD Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mr. Keith & Dr. Katandria Love Demps.

Hi Mr. Keith & Dr. Katandria Love, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our story is rooted in caregiving and calling.

Before we ever met, both of us—Mr. Keith and Dr. Kat—were full-time caregivers within our own families. Caring for others wasn’t simply something we did; it shaped who we were becoming. In 2018, through a mutual friend, our paths finally crossed. Two years later—June 2020—in the middle of a global pandemic, we married. The same month we exchanged vows, we also birthed our first business together, KLD Consulting, along with our first publication, Cooking to Heal. Shortly after, we moved to Manhattan for work and served in ministry in the Bronx.

Over the last five years, we have continued living out our mission: serving the community and supporting Dr. Kat’s parents through their aging-in-place journey. Along the way, we developed a proprietary, copyrighted caregiver wellness roadmap—designed for multicultural and multilingual families—helping caregivers learn how to serve their loved ones without losing themselves or their health in the process.

Our journey has been meaningful, but it has not been easy. In 2018, Mr. Keith lost his mother the same weekend we were scheduled to wed. The pandemic delayed our wedding by three months. Recently, before Dr. Kat’s father passed away, we stepped away from our positions in Manhattan and the Bronx to become full-time caregivers once again in Texas. We overcame health challenges and COVID-19 while still operating community-focused businesses.

Today, we serve as serial entrepreneurs—working in caregiver wellness, regenerative and longevity medicine, commercial environmental services, and asset retention. Everything we build flows from our marriage, our faith, and our belief that business and ministry can coexist for the good of humanity.

At the core of our story is simple obedience: we care for people because that’s what we were created to do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—it has been meaningful, but far from smooth.

Caregiving has shaped every season of our lives, and with that calling came unexpected challenges. In 2020, Mr. Keith lost his mother the same weekend we were originally scheduled to be married. Two months later, COVID-19 forced us to postpone our wedding and navigate the uncertainty of launching our business and first publication in the midst of a pandemic. After relocating to New York for employment and ministry, Dr. Kat’s father began declining in health, requiring us to take a leave from our jobs in Manhattan and our ministry in the Bronx so we could return to Texas and serve her family as full-time caregivers.

We faced financial sacrifice, health setbacks—including both of us experiencing COVID-19—and the emotional weight of grieving parents while building community-focused businesses. There were seasons where we were serving others publicly while managing loss privately.

But each challenge refined our purpose. Those experiences birthed our proprietary caregiver wellness roadmap and strengthened our conviction that caregivers deserve support—emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

The road hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it. Our faith, marriage, and commitment to serving people are what keep us moving forward.

As you know, we’re big fans of Dr. Love’s Integrative Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine, PLLC, dba KLD Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We teach caregivers how to care for themselves with the same passion they care for others. Our devotional cookbook Cooking to Heal and our caregiver wellness roadmap integrate faith, food, and relationship-building. What makes us different is that we don’t just consult — we live the caregiver life, and we help couples turn their kitchen and their faith into a place of healing.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Our work is rooted in caregiving, and caregiving rarely happens under perfect circumstances. We’ve built businesses, written a book, and served aging family members while navigating grief, relocation, health setbacks, and career transitions. The only way we kept moving forward was through a commitment to keep showing up — for each other, for our families, and for the people we are called to serve.

Our faith fuels that perseverance. It guides every decision we make, from writing Cooking to Heal to developing our caregiver wellness roadmap and consulting services. Because we live the caregiver life, not just teach it, perseverance becomes more than a trait — it becomes a testimony.

What sets us apart isn’t just expertise; it’s that we stay when others quit.

We persevere.
We remain faithful.
And we build solutions that serve caregivers because we know exactly what it feels like to be one.
