Exploring Life & Business with Carmen Marin of Beauty sanctuary by Carmen Marin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Marin.

Hi Carmen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a very young age, I was fascinated by beauty and skincare. I struggled with acne myself, which led me to learn everything I could about how to improve the skin and feel confident again. Even before getting licensed, I loved helping others with skincare advice and studying skin health.

After moving here, I became a licensed esthetician and began growing my career ; first practicing to perfect my techniques, then working at a spa while continuing to expand my knowledge and skills. Eventually, I opened my own studio ,starting in a small space and now expanding into a larger location as my business continues to grow.

I also went through my own body transformation journey. Body contouring combined with better nutrition helped me lose weight, shape my figure, and feel strong again. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of the process and inspired me to specialize in it.

Today, I work with professional equipment and focus on advanced anti-aging and body contouring services, using technologies such as cryotherapy, radiofrequency, cavitation, wood therapy, and cryofacial lifting techniques. I also offer nutrition coaching and guidance supported by medical professionals, helping clients achieve visible and long-lasting results from the inside out.

My mission is to empower women to feel beautiful, confident, and proud of their journey, because every woman deserves to look in the mirror and love what she sees.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was starting my career in a country where I didn’t speak the language fluently yet. English was difficult for me in the beginning, and that made school much harder. I also didn’t know how to drive at the time, so I had to depend on others to take me to class and to work. I couldn’t attend school every day, and I had multiple jobs because I was building a life here on my own. My family lives in my home country, so I really had to figure everything out by myself.

It took me longer than others to finish my program — more than a year and a half — but I never let that stop me. The desire to become licensed and build my career was stronger than every obstacle. I learned how to drive, I improved my English, and I worked harder than ever. Looking back, those challenges made me the woman and the professional I am today — resilient, passionate, and committed to helping others transform their confidence too

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love the most about our city is the opportunity and diversity. Dallas has so many driven, entrepreneurial people, and I’ve met clients from different cultures who inspire me every day.

What I like least is the traffic and long distances everything can be far from each other, and driving everywhere isn’t always easy. But even with that, I still feel grateful to build my life and my business here.
