Inspiring Conversations with Jose Gomez of Tulum homes llc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Gomez.

Hi Jose, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my journey by subcontracting work on the side while maintaining a full-time job. After about a year of consistently selling our services and seeing strong results, I realized the business had real potential. That’s when I decided to leave my full-time position and fully commit to building my own company.
We initially focused on remodeling projects for about a year. As our experience and confidence grew, we expanded into purchasing land and building new homes. After successfully selling several of those homes, we developed a strong reputation for quality construction.
Over time, companies like Angie’s List and BuildZoom reached out to us to provide leads. While we chose not to formally partner with them, they occasionally sent us complimentary remodeling leads. Meanwhile, referrals and repeat clients continued to grow organically.
Today, we’ve built strong relationships with investors and landowners who trust us to bring their projects to life. We continue to collaborate with investors and individuals who want to build on their own land, and our network and reputation remain the foundation of our success

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

It was not a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs know, the journey comes with many challenges and setbacks along the way.
In the beginning, one of our biggest obstacles was building trust. As a new company, clients didn’t know who we were, and earning their confidence took time, consistency, and proven results.
Securing lines of credit was another challenge. Financial institutions typically require businesses to be established for several years before extending significant credit, which limited our flexibility early on. We also faced limited resources, including not having all the tools and equipment that would have made our jobs more efficient.
On top of that, not having strong connections with the right vendors and suppliers put us at a disadvantage. In the construction industry, relationships are everything. Without reliable vendors, competitive pricing, and dependable partners, it’s easy to fall behind.
Despite these challenges, we stayed persistent, continued building relationships, and focused on delivering quality work. Over time, trust was earned, connections were formed, and the foundation of a strong company was built

As you know, we’re big fans of Tulum homes llc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a family-owned business operated by two brothers with a passion for building. We specialize in full home remodels, additions, and new construction, and we provide in-house design services for complete house plans.

Our specialty is new builds and remodeling, and we take great pride in our work. We truly love what we do and focus on attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship in every project.

What we are most proud of is our brand—the relationships we have built with our customers over the years and the trust they place in us. That trust is the foundation of everything we do.

As for our services, we offer a complete, start-to-finish solution. If you want a home built the right way, come to us. We can build on your own land, or we can purchase the land, build the home, and sell it to you. If you’re looking for a full home remodel, we can handle that as well. Need house plans or permits? We take care of that too.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
We used to ride our bikes on the streets with our friends. You don’t see kids doing that much anymore these days.
