Hi Laura, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Thank y’all again so much for having us! So we’ve always been Texas based, but in the last year and a half to going on 2 years, we’ve naturally expanded into the Dallas market, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Our clients live here, and we just couldn’t be more thankful or grateful for all of their love, support, belief in our brand, and referrals ! As a business owner, there truly is no greater compliment and it’s something that means everything not only to me, but to my Artistry Team.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think any business owner will really tell you that it’s been a smooth road, but it is one incredible journey. Through every challenge I’ve faced, I’ve been so fortunate to have an amazing support system, and truly wonderful vendor partners and clients that have become like family to me.
The struggle that truly shaped me the most was a very private health crisis that I experienced about 3 and a half years ago. It quickly became very public, and while at the time it felt unimaginably difficult, it truly made me stronger and more resilient than I ever thought I could be. I also think it made me a better person, and a better business owner. It also made others more comfortable in sharing their struggles and challenges, which to me is so important simply because the vulnerability it takes. And as much as we celebrate wins, I can’t think of a bigger win than celebrating each others’ resilience and determination to rise above challenges. ✨❤️✨
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve been in love with makeup for as long as I can remember. And what truly brings me the most joy is enhancing and capturing, or rather showcasing, a client’s beautiful features. I would definitely say that we’re considered a soft glam brand, and that honestly makes me so happy, because it’s so authentic to my artistic approach to makeup. I’m also obsessed with skin, most specifically glowy skin. As a teenager I struggled with acne, and that experience shaped me. I’ve seen time and time again where giving a client gorgeous skin through makeup artistry is giving them confidence. It’s also a big part of why I’m so passionate about makeup lessons for my clients because I want them to feel confident knowing that they can replicate those same looks. It makes my heart so full to see clients feeling confident and empowered. ✨🫶🏻❤️🫶🏻✨
