My name is Marcelle Djeutsa Tiogo, I am the CEO and Lead Braider at Marcelle Crown Studio. I am a professional braider, hairstylist, and licensed cosmetologist based in Arlington, Texas.
Marcelle Crown Studio is a faith-based braiding salon that started in November 2025, after I made the courageous decision to leave my job and create a unique space for my clients.
After graduating from high school in South America, I moved to France to attend business school, where I was studying to become a Chartered Accountant. However, the Lord had different plans for my life. One year before completing my bachelor’s degree, I relocated to the United States and began attending cosmetology school while working at Beauty Concepts Salon at the same time. After graduating from cosmetology school, I continued working at the salon for about four years, growing both professionally and personally.
My journey with hair braiding began with a love for beauty and creativity. Over time, braiding became more than just a skill for me—it became a way to uplift others. I truly believe that hair is a crown, and every person deserves to wear their crown with confidence and pride.
As my passion grew, I felt God placing a vision on my heart to create something greater than just a salon. I wanted to build a space where people could come not only to get their hair braided, but also to feel valued, encouraged, and respected.
That vision became Marcelle Crown Studio.
As the founder, my mission is to combine excellence in braiding with a strong foundation of faith. Every style created in my chair is done with care, patience, and purpose. I believe beauty is powerful, and when someone feels good about themselves, it can transform their confidence and brighten their day.
My goal is to serve men, women, and children creating styles that celebrate them; individuality through braiding. At Marcelle Crown Studio, we don’t just style hair—we honor every crown that sits in our chair.
This salon represents my dedication to hard work, my love for people, and my commitment to honoring God through my business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has come with its own set of challenges.
One of my first struggles was to accept that I was now my own boss. Starting a business sounds very COOL, exciting and glamorous, but it is actually very demanding. Being an entrepreneur means carrying many responsibilities, making difficult decisions, and staying disciplined even when things feel overwhelming.
Another challenge was rebuilding my client base. When you start your own business, you are essentially starting from the ground. Even if you have experience, you still have to put your name out there and earn people’s trust. Trust is not built overnight, so I had to stay consistent, patient, and committed to my work.
The last challenge but not the least was learning to navigate the seasons of the beauty industry. There are high seasons when the salon is very busy, but there are also slower seasons when business can be quiet and slow. During those times, I had to learn how to manage my finances, plan ahead, and stay focused on the long-term vision for my business.
Through each of these challenges, my faith has been my foundation. Every obstacle has helped me grow not only as a business owner, but also as a person.
