Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Lilly.
Karen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started working at a Christmas store in 2015 as a warehouse worker/merchandiser. This was my first ever job an I never thought it would turn out into anything but through out the years I found myself doing different things including working the register and helping in the design area as the years passed I worked closely with the head Christmas designer at the store and she became my mentor she thought me how to tie bows and how to bring and entire Christmas look together. While working at this Christmas store I was able to start my own Christmas bow and decorating business du to all the knowledge I’d learn through out the years. If I hadn’t started working for this store I would have never found my true passion in life. I love Christmas decorating.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Thankfully I had a great support system. My employees guided me along the way and thought me a lot and always supported me and my husband and family has been so supportive. Ofcourse there is always some struggles. Being a small business it gets hard during the season because of how many hours we put in. But it’s only season so we get through it and we love it!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My bussiness specializes in Christmas decorating. Anything from having your Christmas tree decorated to garlands to wreaths and having your bows tied. I specialize in Hand tied luxury Christmas bows. I would say i am mostly known for my luxurious bows. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am able to provide my clients with what they want and bring there visions to life with my design work. I would say that what I am most proud of is how far we’ve come being such a small company. The services we offer is everything Christmas related. Decorating trees, decorating and installing garlands, tying bows, and decorating and installing wreaths.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being able to listen to my clients and proving them with there dream Christmas decorating.
