Community Highlights: Meet Ashley Adjei-Bonsu of Edit by Eleventh Hour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Adjei-Bonsu.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in the beauty industry in 2018 as a lash artist, which gave me my first experience building relationships with clients and understanding how much confidence is tied to how we feel about our appearance. Over time, I began to notice that many of my clients were struggling with their skin, and it shifted my interest toward esthetics and results-driven skincare.

As I transitioned into esthetics, I became especially drawn to treating acne and hyperpigmentation. I saw firsthand how deeply it impacts not just the skin, but confidence, especially in teens and women who felt like they had tried everything without success. That’s where my approach really developed and I focusing on education, consistency, and supporting the skin rather than overwhelming it.

Over the years, I’ve refined my practice to center around acne and pigmentation focused treatments and customized skincare plans, helping clients achieve long-term results while also building confidence in their skin. Most recently, that growth has expanded into mentorship, where I now work with other estheticians to help them refine their clinical skills, build stronger businesses, and feel more confident in the treatment room.

Looking back, what started as a beauty service has evolved into something much more intentional, helping people feel confident, supported, and informed in their skin and in their careers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lol! I don’t think and entrepreneur can ever say its a smooth journey. We all remember the year 2020 and the uncertainties it brought on with the COVID shutdown. The stillness as a business owner was nerve wrecking. You are left to wonder “how long?”, “will my business recover from this?”, “will I even have a business?”, “How will I provide for my family?”, “what’s next if this doesn’t work out?” It was such a stressful pause in life but in the same way, it was such a disguised blessing that pushed me into esthetics school. My step into esthetics was purely a step of faith. You got to be a little crazy to bet on yourself and shift your career in the middle of a pandemic, right? lol!

To any entrepreneur that comes across any roadblocks or hurdles, I want to remind you to keep going. It’s not always easy but it is empowering to know that you didn’t give up and you perserveered through the challenges. Pivot as many times as you need to. Just keep going. You got this!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Edit by Eleventh Hour, we specialize in skincare, and lash artistry with an emphasis on education, intention, and elevated care. It’s my mission to prioritze self care as a necessity, not a luxury, for women and men of all ethnicities. Every experience is designed with thoughtfulness, precision, and education at the forefront, ensuring that clients feel heard, informed, confident, and cared for.
As a corrective-focused med spa, I specialize in supporting clients through concerns such as acne, pigmentation, scarring, age management, and compromised skin barrier restoration. Treatments are approached with a balance of advanced techniques, skin-respecting protocols, prioritizing long-term skin health over quick fixes and continued support.

Through customized skincare treatments and refined lash services, I focus on enhancing your natural features, restoring skin confidence, and delivering a seamless client experience rooted in trust and expertise.

Outside of servicing clients, also created a Coaching and Mentorship program called the Confident Esty. I remember how I felt leaving esthetics school and searching for unanswered questions and Mentorship so I decided to create the mentorship that I wish existed when I first started my business. Edit by Eleventh Hour was branched off from my first love Eleventh Hour Lash Lounge. Changing it to the “Edit” just made since as a rebrand that represented me and my business. Now, more than ever, I’m working to EDIT the way people see themselves and the way they see me as a service provider. I don’t just do it for the business. I’m passionate about helping people feel confident, supported, and informed in the skin their in and in their careers in the esthetics industry.

I’m most proud of the client family I’ve been able to sustain. This year Eleventh Hour turned 11! Some days I’m still in awe that my business is still growing with many of my day one clients still supporting me. I’ve been so fortunate to have a clientele that has always believed in me and my ambition. They trusted me from lashes to skin and support me with every new twist and turn.

I don’t only offer a service, I offer an experience. From a beautiful studio, to vibes being set….I’m the sister-friend that cares about you as a person and I create a space where you can be your best self. For the days you don’t feel like you are, I’m there to EDIT that mindset and remind you that you are amazing and you are doing a great job! My clients choose me over and over again. For that, I am forever grateful!

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
