Check Out Terra Sears’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terra Sears.

Hi Terra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t set out thinking I would become a western fashion influencer, It really started from a genuine love for the style and the lifestyle that comes with it. I’ve always been drawn to western fashion, from the details in the pieces to how confident it makes you feel when you put an outfit together.

At the time, I was working in retail and later in brand marketing, so I already had a strong understanding of styling, trends, and what resonates with people. I started sharing my outfits online just for fun. Outfit ideas, pieces I loved, and looks I would wear to rodeos and events. Over time, people really connected with it, and that’s when I realized there was something more there.

As my platform grew, I leaned into creating more intentional content, Things like getting ready with me, event styling, and sharing real-time looks from rodeos, markets, and festivals. Being based in Oklahoma, and finding myself in Texas for work I’m surrounded by such a strong western culture, and that’s played a huge role in shaping my style and the content I create.
What really helped me get to where I am today is treating this like a business early on.

My background in PR and social media gave me the tools to not only create content, but also build relationships with brands and understand how to create content that actually performs.
Now, I get to collaborate with brands I’ve loved for years and create content at major events like WESA and the Houston Rodeo. It’s been such an organic journey, and I think that’s what people connect with most it’s real.
It’s something I genuinely love, and I’m just sharing it as I go.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most creative careers, there have been a lot of highs, but also a lot of behind-the-scenes challenges that people don’t always see.
In the beginning, one of the biggest struggles was just being taken seriously. Social media can look effortless from the outside, but building a platform, creating consistent content, and trying to turn that into real opportunities takes a lot of time and persistence. There were plenty of moments where I questioned if it was actually going to go anywhere.
Another challenge has been learning how to navigate the business side of it. Setting boundaries, understanding my worth, and not always saying yes to everything, especially when it comes to gifted collaborations versus paid work. That’s something I’ve really had to grow into over time.

There’s also the pressure to stay consistent, keep up with trends, and continue showing up even when life gets busy. Being a mom, wife, managing work, and creating content all at once can be overwhelming at times.
But every challenge has helped me grow. It’s pushed me to be more confident, more strategic, and more intentional with the brands I work with and the content I create. Looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it,
it’s all played a part in getting me to where I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a western fashion content creator, and my work really centers around styling, storytelling, and bringing outfits to life in real-world settings. I create a lot of “get ready with me” content, event styling, and on-site coverage from rodeos, markets, Converts and Festivals. My goal is always to make western fashion feel wearable, current, and something people can actually see themselves in.

I’d say I specialize in event-driven content, whether it’s a rodeo, a festival, or a market like WESA, I love creating looks that fit the moment and capturing content in real time. That includes everything from styling full outfits to filming, editing, and turning around content quickly while the event is still happening. I also focus a lot on voiceovers and storytelling, which helps my content feel more personal and engaging rather than just visual.

I’m probably most known for my outfit styling and the way I mix different brands into one cohesive look. I love taking pieces people might not think to put together and making them feel effortless and elevated, while still staying true to that western edge.

What I’m most proud of is building something that feels authentic to me while also turning it into a business. I’ve been able to work with brands I’ve genuinely loved for years and create content that not only looks good but performs well and drives results for them. That balance is something I’ve worked really hard to achieve.

What sets me apart is that I understand both sides of the industry. I don’t just create content, I know how brands think, what they’re looking for, and how to create content that aligns with their goals while still feeling natural to my audience. I’m also very hands-on with everything I do, from styling to filming to editing, and I think that level of involvement shows in the final product.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Fort Worth is how authentic it feels. There’s a real sense of western heritage there, especially in places like the Stockyards, but it doesn’t feel stuck in the past, it blends tradition with a modern edge in a really natural way. You can go from watching a cattle drive to shopping, grabbing a great meal, or heading to an event, and it all just flows. It’s also such a strong hub for western fashion, which obviously makes it really inspiring for what I do.

If I had to say one downside, it’s how busy it can get, especially during major events or weekends. The energy is amazing, but it can make it a little harder to slow down and fully take everything in. That said, I think that kind of comes with the territory of a city that has so much going on.
