Hi Amena, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been writing and creating travel content for just over 4 years now. Post graduate school, when I wasn’t finding aligned opportunities, I took the plunge to run with this side hustle. I didn’t know what I was doing, or where it would go, but I’m so glad I took the leap of faith.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not. Lots of personal, physical, and of course political challenges – the state of the world affects how and if we can travel! I had no idea what it meant to be a creator, and of course the opportunties that were available. There’s no blueprint for changing course, and building a brand while building a family. The struggle to balance it all, is so real – and changes as the seasons of life change course too.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a travel and personal finance content creator, blogger, and award travel consultant. I write and create content on points, and miles, and how to travel smarter. I educate my audience on how to leverage their everyday spend to earn points and miles towards travel. Life, and travel, is expensive and there’s no better time to work smarter than in today’s economy!
I’m a family travel enthsiast! I’m most proud of our recent Umrah trip (spiritual pilgrimage) in the fall of 2024. This is generally a very expensive trip, and I’m been able to help many book this trip using points and miles, as I did myself. While there is much out there on points and miles, and redeeming for travel, there is no one else talking about a trip like this. Being able to help others reach their travel goals has been life-changing!
