Today we’d like to introduce you to Jett Jeff.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised from Dallas, Tx but whole family from Peru. Started doing music and having a passion for it at 8 years old rapping in front of my parents webcam. Doing random freestyles to Drake beats and at the lunch tables at school. Granted back in school I would’ve made fun of my raps but that didn’t stop me, it only motivated me to become better. Fast forward to 2020 i dropped my first mixtape, Play date which charted 56 on hip hop/ rap itunes. That to me stapled Jett Jeff in Dallas. Worked with several artist in my community and then alter in 2024 dropped my album, Peruvian Prince, which debuted at #7 on the Hip-Hop/Rap / iTunes chart. Continuing to work hard on my craft. Recently lost my grandmother and that has strived me to make it even further. Especially since I am here in the US if it wasn’t for her. I would describe my music as refreshing, fun, uplifting music.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Losing my grandmother was one of the toughest things for sure. Recently, i also lost a friendship with someone who i started doing music with. So doing music solo dolo without that “hype man” is different.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Setting barriers, breaking boundaries, and being able to perform in every single lgbt club here in Dallas. Name it, i’ve performed there. It’s abnormal to have a rapper perform at these clubs because it’s normally strippers or drag queens. To me, that was huge! Also being able to top itunes charts with no big machine behind me.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Grammys, Billboards, Latin Award shows, living in Miami or LA with a big house spoiling my mother. That’s where I see myself, that’s what will happen.
