Today we’d like to introduce you to Yayra Perez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello, I started in the permanent makeup industry back in August of 2022. I drove 10 hours to El Paso for my first ombré powder brow course. I was 20 years old and working in the car industry at the time. I worked 60+ hours in car sales + working on my business on the side. After about a year of working like crazy I was able to leave my full time job and go into my business 100% I now have service over 600 clients and have had the pleasure of training others to do the same. I recently opened my first permanent makeup studio!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning your own business is not easy, you’re navigating everything and with little to no guidance. I believe it takes a lot of courage, time and effort. Sometimes giving yourself and your mental more to other than you do for yourself. In my personal experience I had a tough time navigating how much time and energy I put in without burning myself out. I found that I really love teaching and enjoy the thrill of watching someone grow. It enlightened another spark in me and allows me to focus on one person at a time vs 10+ clients at once.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I offer ombré powder brows, lip blushing, and 1:1 trainings. I have taken 4 trainings in the last 3.5 years to continue to grow and perfect my craft. I absolutely love what I do and I pride myself in client satisfaction. I like to treat my clients with respect, kindness and understanding. We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Im a first generation Mexican American. Spanish is my first language and I carry my heritage deep. I’m born and raised here in the Fort Worth area and even went to school near by. I always knew I wanted to own my own business I just needed to find out how. I started car sales out of high school at 19 years old and I surrounded myself with so many successful and goal oriented people that it made me have that push in the right way,
