Hi Beth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Beth Smith, and I am an image consultant with House of Colour Dallas. I specialize in helping clients discover the most flattering colors for their unique, natural coloring—guiding choices in clothing, hair color, and makeup so they feel confident and authentic in their appearance. I also offer personalized style consultations, where I help clients identify the silhouettes, fabrics, and overall looks that best complement their body shape, personality, and lifestyle.
My passion for this work began about three years ago when I experienced a House of Colour color analysis for myself. I was fascinated by the process and genuinely surprised to learn that I fall on the cool side of the color spectrum as a Bright Winter. That discovery was truly transformative—it changed not only how I saw color, but how I saw myself.
Since then, embracing my seasonal palette has been a journey of growing confidence. Wearing the right colors has allowed me to show up more vibrantly, and choosing makeup shades that harmonize with my coloring has helped me feel polished and empowered every day. Through my style consultation, I also discovered my clothing personality, which has brought clarity and confidence to how I shop and dress. Now, I’m able to create outfits that honor my body shape while expressing who I am authentically.
It’s incredibly rewarding to now guide others through this same journey—helping them feel seen, confident, and aligned in how they present themselves to the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With a master’s degree in the teaching of reading and over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher and private tutor, transitioning into the world of color analysis and styling was a significant leap for me.
In 2024, all three of my children were in elementary school for the first time, and I suddenly found myself with more flexibility during the day. I began searching for a part-time opportunity that would allow me to create my own schedule while doing something I truly enjoyed. My passion for incorporating my personal color season into everyday life became the driving force behind this new venture.
What started as a creative interest quickly grew into something more meaningful. Learning how to build and run a small business has been both an exciting adventure and an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve loved discovering the many facets of entrepreneurship and continuing to grow with each new step along the way.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a precocious third-born child who loved performing, playing dress-up, and dancing. I still remember telling my third-grade teacher that I wanted to be a personal shopper and makeup artist when I grew up—and now, I can’t help but laugh because that dream has come to life in the most unexpected and wonderful way!
