Inspiring Conversations with Dennis Jones of MetroFulfill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Jones.

Hi Dennis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After 2 years of unemployment, MetroFulfill was created to utilize my 10+ experience in supply chain roles such as logistics, inventory management, and supply planning. The job market has been very competitive and I was determined it was time to take my power back and try to build something of my own. These days, no job is secured, unless maybe you’re in heath care. With new technology like AI, replacing administrative positions has never been easier. One thing that we’ll always need is warehousing and the people in operations. E-commerce will continue to grow and MetroFulfill will be here to support the future supply chains.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. No one tells you that when you start a business, it’s 20% operations and 80% marketing. I’m no marketing guy and never wanted to be one. To run a business, you have to be social and willing to network. I’ve messaged hundreds of sellers on social media, attended pop ups, and attended networking events. Securing clients is the hardest part of the job, but when you do, it is very rewarding.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
MetroFulfill is a micro fulfillment center that supports e-commerce sellers with inventory management and fulfillment services. We handle pick and packing, labeling, and shipping. We set ourselves apart with personal support that you may not have with Amazon or other larger 3pl’s.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m a creative and that likes the arts. From time to time I like to create music. Go check out my music on all streaming platforms. I go by the name Denny Jones.
