Life & Work with Moriah Shields of Dallas Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moriah Shields.

Hi Moriah , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started the journey of my business in San Diego ca in 2016. Moved in to Texas in 2018 where the vision was always clear community
. Started a podcast called speakupspeakout nation297 which is spin off from the name I started in San Diego as Moriahdropthemic. It started out with speaking about my life and give advice on fundamentals of relationships and speaking life into yourself. After do that for some time God told me to go after the community so that’s what I did. I turned up the heat in 2025 and took chance on what vision God gave me and he sustained me. I met wonderful people doing wonderful things in the community. I learned why community is so important. You really don’t do life only if you around some solid people. The only reason I am where I am is by the grace of God and my testimony.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In everything you do there is going to be challenges that’s life. It’s not about the challenges it’s about what do you do when they come do you walk through the fire or do you live in fear and stay bound. It’s your choice. I think my biggest challenge was going through heart break during 2025 and not reaching the goal I thought I was suppose to reach. One thing I have learned is heart posture matters more than anything. You can do all the things in the world but if your heart posture is not where it needs to be nothing will move. You have to make sure that you take time to search your heart in all aspects. When you see your future with someone and you have to make decisions to better yourself growth it hurts. I went through a level of heart break I have not experienced. It took a lot out of me but made me trust God even more. To the level that I never stopped praying for that person nor never stopped hoping that everything they desired came true that’s aligning your heart in the right place.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
When it comes to go out in the community I am the person that is bold enough to walk up to anyone and everyone. I am known to be the bubbly person in the room cracking jokes and putting light in a room. Most people call me sunshine because I light up a room. On my day job I have the privilege of working in customer service that has allowed me to be able to learn certain ways of communicating with every type of people. The things that I am the most proud of is how many people I have been able to impact in the years of my life, but also how many people I’ve impacted me given me, knowledge and wisdom, and understanding of how to run a business. I would say what sets me part is the fact that I will do anything for anybody or will try my best to educate myself to help anybody out and I would give the clothes off my back if someone needed them. I believe we are here on earth to help our neighbor so if that means that you educate yourself to understand something and help to pour into someone else, then that is the best thing you can do in life.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when my grandmother signed us up to go to a camp at a hospital that she worked at that taught us. What surgeons do nurses do and anybody that works at hospitals. Also their particular positions we also got to act like we were nurses acting like we were surgeons, doctors and got to work on mannequins and learn how to cut through things put IV in etc. That was my most exciting moment because my brothers got to do it with me.
One of my other favorite moments in my childhood was the first time I got to go to a dance class. I have been dancing for 29 years of my life, and it has been the most beautiful way of expressing my emotions as well who I am as a woman. Dance has been one of the most refreshing things of my life, and it became the love of my life for a lot of of my years.
