Check Out Rana Ellison-Harris’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rana Ellison-Harris.

Hi Rana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey with The Champs Quarters didn’t begin in a boardroom; it began in my living room. As the wife of a former NFL player, I witnessed firsthand the “physical toll” that high-performance life takes on a man. I saw that while high quality skin, hair, and nail maintenance were essential for my husband’s recovery and confidence, the options for men were not quite to where I would see your typical athlete, dad or coach..

I realized there was a critical gap for a “Third Space” that prioritized male well-being without sacrificing the energy and comfort of sports culture. Leveraging my background in Psychology (Psy.D), I leaned into my Detroit roots, a city built on grit and a deep love for the game to engineer a solution.

I moved from identifying a problem to building a blueprint: a luxury “Quarters” where the locker room meets the executive lounge. I spent the last year meticulously developing the concept with my mentor, John Brown who is no stranger to the industry. He has over 40 years in the business and has been a consultant with brands such as Soft Sheen Carson, Dark & Lovely, Milani Cosmetics, Magic Shave and more.

Today, we are on the verge of our Summer 2026 launch in the DFW area. We’ve evolved from a simple observation into a revolutionary brand that is redefining self-care as a vital part of every man’s game plan. We are no longer just dreaming of a space where champions can recharge, we are building it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. First and foremost, I am stepping into an arena that is completely outside of my comfort zone. I have always taken the path less traveled, or strived to break barriers which ultimately comes with challenges. This business was built from being rejected which essentially redirection. You have to to find your niche and no matter how crazy it may look to others, you have to keep at it, but it is only crazy until it actually works out. All of the hardships along the way built a he road to building The Champs Quarters has been anything but smooth. I chose to step into an arena completely outside of my comfort zone, but then again, I’ve always been drawn to the path less traveled and the barriers that need breaking.

This business was born from the sting of rejection, which I’ve learned is simply a more aggressive form of redirection. When you find a niche that others don’t yet see, your vision often looks ‘crazy’ to the outside world, but it’s only crazy until it works. Every hardship and hurdle I’ve faced along this path didn’t just test me; it built the CHAMPION in me. That grit and resilience is exactly where our name comes from, and it’s the same spirit we pour into every client who walks through our doors.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the Founder and CEO of The Champs Quarters, a luxury grooming destination where high-performance self-care meets the sophisticated energy of sports culture. Professionally, I am a doctoral-level researcher and risk mitigation expert within the financial crimes industry. My career is dedicated to protecting global brands and navigating high-stakes environments, a background that has given me a unique edge in building a business rooted in precision, security, and excellence.

I specialize in the Psychology of Empowerment. With a Doctorate in Psychology and a Master’s in Public Administration, I understand the profound link between a person’s external presentation and their internal confidence. At The Champs Quarters, we specialize in Signature Athletic Pedicures and therapeutic grooming treatments designed specifically for the “Modern Champion”, men who lead in the boardroom, on the field, and in their communities.

What truly distinguishes me is my ability to merge the analytical rigor of a Financial Crimes Investigator with the empathetic lens of an Applied Researcher. While others see a spa, I see a “Third Space” engineered to mitigate the stresses of high-level leadership. My deep ties to the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators and the American Psychological Association mean that I build with a level of integrity, strategic risk management, and psychological insight that is rare in the retail industry.

I am most proud of my role as a mentor and community advocate. Beyond my academic accolades as a member of the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society, my greatest achievement is using my platform to pour into the youth and college students. Whether I am speaking at leadership summits or developing other initiatives, I am proud to be a positive role model who demonstrates that you can be a powerhouse in the corporate world while still being a visionary entrepreneur.

Known for my “Detroit Grit” and refined leadership, I have created a brand that mirrors my own journey. The Champs Quarters is more than a grooming site; it is a manifestation of my passion for community and my belief that every leader deserves a “Quarters” where they can recharge, recalibrate, and return to the game stronger than ever
