Inspiring Conversations with Jaycee Conroy of 101Media (Dallasites101)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaycee Conroy.

Hi Jaycee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Jaycee Conroy, an energetic and dedicated team player with over five years of experience in the events industry. I am from Dallas originally and I have lived all over the city from Plano, Lake Highlands, Preston Hollow to Highland Park. My education from Good Shepherd and Ursuline Academy set the foundation for my career, naturally choosing a path that allows me to connect others for a living. My experiential focus began in college at The University of Arkansas, planning holiday events at the beloved local small business, Presley Paige. Upon graduation, I knew I had to make it back to Dallas, my absolute favorite city. in 2022, I joined the 101Media/Dallasites101 Events Team full time, producing community events from speed dating and fitness events to silent discos and bar crawls in Dallas and Fort Worth.

I have developed a passion for content creation & storytelling through experiential marketing. Whether I am planning an intimate gathering of 15 guests to large-scale productions of over 3,000 attendees, my passion lies in connecting and inspiring my community. As a Dallasite myself, I’ve made it my mission to help others fall in love with the city. Yes, I share my local recommendations, but I find it most meaningful to provide a space where transplants can connect to build their own community right here in Dallas.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the main obstacles my team has faced over the years is finding committed staffers to work out events alongside my team. As a small local Dallas-based team, we are determined to grow into new markets. We cannot host our events without a trusted team of temporary event staffers. I am so proud to say that we have built up a fleet of staffers over the years that have become our friends as well. It has been incredible to see that staffing events has created a small community of its own right! Plus, we are constantly growing our team and accepting new staffers as we continue to grow!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about 101Media (Dallasites101)?
I work for hyper local marketing & events agency, 101Media, called “101” for short. We have a full in house marketing agency and are known for the Dallasites101 Instagram, which turned 11 years old this year. Although we are based in Dallas, we have community accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Website etc) in Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin too. Our company is all about creating belonging and propelling the prosperity of Texas—its businesses, people, and communities—through meaningful stories, experiences, and connections.

During my 4+ years at 101, I have witnessed our events grow exponentially, from holiday bar crawls, silent discos, and annual celebrations from Oktoberfest to our annual Halloween party. Our events team produces an average of 50+ events per year in Dallas and Fort Worth, supporting to the Dallasites101 & Fortworthians101 social accounts.

I spearheaded the launch of our 101Media_Events Instagram, which recently hit the 10K follower milestone, so so proud! This new account allows my team to share upcoming events, recaps and behind the scenes footage. Giving our community a glimpse into the process has allowed us to build an even stronger connection with our audience. Consistency is key in monitoring comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally from influencer communication to attendee correspondence. As we continue elevating our systems & strategies, our core focus remains connecting the people of DFW through shared experiences.

What does success mean to you?
In planning local DFW events, we define success as being a consistent resource for others to find connection and feel at home here in Dallas/Fort Worth. Whether people attend in a large group or come solo, we want our events to feel welcoming. It brings us so much joy that at almost every event, we meet at least one group celebrating a birthday. This is such compliment that they chose to gather for such a special occasion with us. We love doing DJ shoutouts or to give them extra love too! My team lights up when we hear attendees say they insist on making our holiday focused bar crawl an annual tradition, from St. Paddy’s in The Stockyards to Naughty or Nice Santa Crawl on Greenville Ave. Some other specific examples of recent happy attendee stories are a couple recently getting engaged after meeting at our speed dating event (even took a Japan trip together) and best friends saying they met at our. This is why we work so hard to plan events with the main goal to connect others!
