Exploring Life & Business with Meili Rodriguez Lacy Janus of Little Black Book Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meili Rodriguez Lacy Janus.

Meili Rodriguez, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
What began as a shared passion for marketing has evolved into a powerhouse collaboration that goes beyond traditional marketing. Meili and Lacy’s journey started with a mutual drive to make an impact, first coming together to support a hospitality group based in Las Vegas, as they launched a bold new concept in Dallas, culminating in a star-studded grand opening.

Leveraging their expertise and extensive networks, they elevated their marketing approach to new heights. Their shared love for brand elevation and the power of networking fueled their success, quickly earning them a reputation as a dynamic force in the marketing world. With a collaborative, innovative, and hands-on approach, they specialize in high-impact grand openings and unforgettable experiences.

What sets them apart from traditional PR and marketing agencies is their focus on building authentic connections. Rather than solely relying on campaigns, Meili and Lacy help brands cultivate genuine, organic advocacy by tapping into relationships they’ve spent years developing.

Meili and Lacy’s diverse backgrounds make them a uniquely effective and a well-rounded team. Between them, they bring a range of educational experiences, a wealth of marketing knowledge, and entrepreneurial mindsets. Combined with their vast networks and national reach, Meili and Lacy quickly realized that these strengths would be their bread and butter. And just like that, their Little Black Book was born, rooted in the belief that “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Within the marketing industry, there are countless services that fall under the umbrella of “marketing,” and one of our biggest challenges early on was defining exactly who we wanted to be. Initially, we envisioned Little Black Book Agency as a more traditional marketing agency paired with an event planning company. As we evolved, we realized our true strength was in curating experiences from start to finish, not only producing elevated events, but also strategically filling the room with the right people.

That realization helped us define our niche within the luxury experiential marketing space. We focus on creating meaningful connections by leveraging our network of industry leaders, influencers, and high-value guests to ensure our clients are reaching their targeted audience in an authentic and impactful way. Our approach goes beyond simply hosting events, we create environments that naturally spark conversation, relationship-building, and organic brand advocacy within our network. By bringing together the right people and experiences, our clients gain authentic exposure and word-of-mouth visibility that continues long after the event ends.

Learning to narrow our focus and fully lean into what made us different ultimately became one of our greatest strengths.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
[Little Black Book Agency is a luxury experiential marketing agency based in Dallas specializing in curated events, strategic brand activations, and high-touch connections that elevate visibility and create meaningful relationships. At the core of our brand is the belief that the right room changes everything. While many agencies can plan an event, we focus on creating experiences that intentionally connect brands with the right audience through thoughtfully curated guest lists, elevated execution, and authentic relationship-building.

We are known for blending luxury hospitality with strategic marketing. From intimate dinners and influencer experiences to large-scale brand launches and private events, we help brands create moments that feel organic, memorable, and aligned with their identity. One of the things that sets us apart is our network, our “Little Black Book” of industry leaders, influencers, creatives, and VIP clientele that help generate genuine engagement and organic brand advocacy for our clients.

What we are most proud of brand-wise is that our business has grown heavily through relationships, referrals, and reputation. We’ve built a brand that feels both elevated and approachable, where clients trust us not only to execute beautiful events, but to open doors, create opportunities, and bring the right people to the table. We want readers to know that we are passionate about creating experiences that leave a lasting impression and partnerships that extend far beyond a single event.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, we see the experiential marketing and event industry becoming even more relationship-driven, community-focused, and experience-led. Consumers are craving authentic connection more than ever, and brands are realizing that traditional advertising alone is no longer enough to build long-term loyalty. People want to feel personally connected to the brands they support, and experiential marketing creates that emotional connection in a way digital ads cannot.

We also believe there will be a major shift toward more intentional and curated events rather than large-scale events focused solely on attendance numbers. Brands are becoming increasingly focused on quality over quantity, prioritizing the right guests, meaningful interactions, and organic brand advocacy over simply filling a room. That’s a huge part of why we built Little Black Book Agency the way we did. Our focus has always been on cultivating the right audience and creating environments where relationships and conversations happen naturally.

At the same time, as AI continues to rapidly transform so many industries, we believe human connection will become even more valuable. Technology can streamline processes, analyze data, and automate communication, but it can never fully replace genuine human interaction, emotional connection, and authentic relationship-building. People will always crave community, conversation, and shared experiences. We believe that in a world becoming increasingly digital, brands that prioritize in-person connection and meaningful relationships will stand out even more.

Another trend we see continuing to grow is the blending of hospitality, luxury experiences, influencer marketing, and community-building into one cohesive strategy. Consumers are becoming more selective about where they spend their time, so brands will need to create experiences that feel elevated, memorable, and genuinely aligned with their audience. We also think personalization will become even more important, with brands wanting highly tailored experiences that make guests feel seen and valued.

At the end of the day, we believe the future of the industry belongs to brands and agencies that prioritize genuine connection, thoughtful experiences, and long-term relationship-building over transactional marketing.
