Today we’d like to introduce you to Edd Dixon.
Hi Edd , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am from pleasant grove area of Dallas tx. Youngest of three, so I had to find a way to stand out. There comedy found me, I began to gravitate to comedians with TV shows such as Martin, Mark Curry, Damon Wayans. As I matured I began to watch stand up specials often repeating punchlines at school. Eventually leading to me pursing a comedy career after college.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s never a smooth road. Obstacles with comedy are the lows and highs. Transitioning from a great performance to okay performance based on a subjective measure.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a standup comedian, known for performing art of stand up comedy, known for using wit and satire to drown crowds with laughter. I am most proud of being able to perform at venues that the greats started at. What sets me apart is the last joke I told.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is essential to progress. Just as a joke has to have great timing, and amazing placement, I believe those qualities affect luck of a person. Performing at different shows has led to me meeting amazing people, and having great memories. I have dope line of credit of luck.
