Today we’d like to introduce you to From The Tides.
Hi From The Tides, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The band formed in the summer of 2022. We spent hours together rehearsing and growing together as a unit. In October of 2022, we played our first show in Haltom City and it was a roaring success. We spent the next year focusing on making a name for ourselves while playing live, as well as releasing music from our debut EP. By September 2023, we were opening for Silent Planet, and just the next year we played the amazing So What!? Festival in Fort Worth. Since then, we have released a music video, covered a Post Malone track, went on a few small tours, and opened for more touring bands such as D.R.U.G.S., The Browning, Dark Divine, and more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been a few struggles. Obviously being a new band in the scene, you have to show that you are worth taking a chance on, and sometimes getting your foot in the door in a challenge by itself. Beyond that, there are always challenges when working with a team and creating a coherent product, whether that is merch, or the music but we all recognize that we just want what is best for the band and with that understanding, it makes collaboration in all aspects a lot easier to achieve.
We have also had a few lineup changes, and with that comes a new vibe that everyone has to learn to work with, which also set our timeline back of what we had planned, but we are back on track, better than ever and ready to release brand new music this year.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a metalcore band from Dallas, TX. We are known for energetic live shows and heavy, but meaningful music.
We are very proud of what we have accomplished as a band, but I think we are the most proud of the upcoming stuff we have. We are releasing new music this year, and have been writing brand new material that we believe is the best we have written so far.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
There are so many people to thank and shout out.
Firstly, I think we have to shout out to the loved ones in our lives. Our wives, close friends and family who have been nothing but supportive in everything we have done. A ton of friends have been there since day 1, and we wouldn’t be here without them.
We also want to shout out our producer David Southern. His hard work and dedication has helped us achieve our vision for our music, and we will be forever grateful for that.
All of the promoters that have taken a chance on booking us and all of the photographers and videographers that have helped us create content are also paramount to our success.
And lastly anyone who has ever caught us at a show or streamed our music, or bought merch from us. We truly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts, and without our fans, this wouldn’t be possible, so a major shoutout to anyone who has played a role in our journey, from a fan to all of the other bands we have played with and beyond.
