Life & Work with Maegan Cope of Irving/Las Colinas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maegan Cope.

Hi Maegan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up with my mother being a real estate agent, so it made sense when I decided to do the same thing. I started my real estate career in Kansas City, Missouri, where I sold resale but primarily sold new construction homes. Then we moved back home to Texas and I got my license here right away and joined Ebby Halliday. I had two kids so while real estate is demanding, it also gives me the flexibility that I need with two kids. I thoroughly enjoy making people’s dreams come true when we find their new home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Any real estate agent will probably tell you that the road is never smooth with real estate haha. In the beginning, it was tough because getting your business established and your name out there is what really makes it grow, and it took me six months before I sold my first house. That first house was a $40,000 condo, very proud of that! But after that things started rolling and it’s been great ever since.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love my job whether it’s on the buy or sell side.. I love talking to people and learning about them and why they are thinking about buying or selling. I love teaching and training people as well. I have been selling real estate for almost a decade and am still learning with every transaction. I hope I get to continue to do this for a very long time!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To always do your best at communicating and pick up the phone. I always try to communicate with my clients as quickly and openly as I possibly can.
