Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Haddon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started doing magic at nine years old after watching a Saturday morning show called The Magic Land of Alakazam, hosted by the late, great Mark Wilson. He didn’t just perform magic, he taught it, which was all I needed to get hooked.
There was no internet back then, so I went to the library and checked out every magic book I could find. Before long, I was putting on shows in my parents’ garage. We only had six chairs, but every show was a sellout.
I kept performing through school and into college, then joined the United States Marine Corps, where, unfortunately, magician was not a required skill. After leaving the Marines in the early 80s, I moved into the corporate world and started using magic in presentations to keep audiences engaged and awake.
Around Y2K, I added improv comedy to the mix, which eventually led me back to magic with a stronger focus on comedy and audience interaction.
For the past 20+ years, I’ve performed for Fortune 100 companies, small businesses, weddings, and private events, combining experience, humor, and live magic to create moments people genuinely remember.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When my late wife became seriously ill and bedridden, I stepped away from performing to be home with her. During that time, I continued practicing magic, and she loved seeing every new piece I was working on. Even in the hardest moments, magic brought a little light into the room.
During a long stretch when she was in a coma, I began performing for nurses and other families in the hospital. It wasn’t about a show at that point. It was about giving people a brief escape, a moment to smile in a place that doesn’t always have many of those.
After she passed in 2021, I made the decision to pursue magic and comedy full time. It was a way to keep moving forward and continue creating those moments for others.
I’ve since remarried, and my wife is now part of the act, often assisting in my shows. It’s brought a new energy to what I do, and it means a lot to be able to share this with her.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in corporate entertainment that is clean, engaging, and built specifically for professional audiences. Whether it’s strolling close up magic during a reception, a high energy stage show, or a hybrid of both, my focus is always the same: create genuine moments of connection, laughter, and amazement.
I’m best known for my ability to read a room and adapt in real time. No two audiences are the same, and I take pride in making each performance feel personal rather than scripted. Clients often tell me how much they appreciate not just the reactions, but how easy and professional the entire experience is from booking to showtime.
What I’m most proud of is consistency. I’ve built my business on delivering a high level experience every time, whether I’m performing for a group of 20 or 2,000. That includes being easy to work with, showing up early, tailoring the performance to the event, and making sure the client looks great for booking me.
What sets me apart is the combination of corporate awareness and entertainment value. I understand the goals behind events, whether it’s team building, client engagement, or simply creating a memorable experience, and I design my performances to support those goals, not distract from them. Add in a money back guarantee, full insurance coverage, and a proven track record, and clients know they’re in good hands.
What makes you happy?
What I enjoy most is watching people experience live magic for the first time. You usually see one of two reactions: a big, unfiltered burst of laughter and disbelief, or complete stunned silence. Both are exactly what I’m going for.
