Community Highlights: Meet Hannah Sanchez of SweetEats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Sanchez.

Hi Hannah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly, since the age of about ten Is when I sparked a passion for pastry arts. Past memories stroll my mind from receiving my first stand mixer, to having an obsession with watching The Food Network channel, to then making not so pretty pastries. Let me just say, that was the life! Fast forward to my high school years, I indulged in the culinary arts program at the Dan Dipert Career Technical Center. In order to start advancing my culinary skills, work expertise, and passion of baking. Most of all learning great lessons and techniques from amazing teacher and chefs! After graduation I decided to attend Dallas College, El Centro and learn from their exceptional Pastry Arts program. Along the way I met like minded people, talented chef’s, and learned quality education. I ended up graduating and receiving my A.S. degree in Pastry Arts from the program in May of 2025. Officially got my credentials to be called Pastry Chef Hannah Sanchez! At this point, I had been working in the pastry pathway for about 6 years, which helped me advance my techniques, knowledge, and experience overall. I then realized that I have big goals and dreams of creating a business, in which I am in control of serving my community, and have a desire of making their events a little bit sweeter. So, I decided to take a leap of faith and open my own cottage home bakery. We specialize in Pastry spreads, Custom cakes, and we newly have our Mobile Dessert Trailer! We have now been in business for 3 years and we are slowly but surely growing our name in the DFW area!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall I’ve been blessed that it has been smooth sailing however, I am currently still learning how to properly run a business as a young 22 year old entrepreneur. I would say learning how to properly charge for an event and/ or an order has been the toughest lesson to learn. I found being able to stand firm in my prices and charging my worth as a pastry chef is difficult in which many individuals may not understand or be onboard with it. when purchasing my service it comes with many labor work hours, bulk store runs, high cost of ingredients, packaging prices, and from scratch recipes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a home based cottage bakery located in Arlington Tx. owned by Pastry chef Hannah Sanchez. Although I bake and decorate all of my orders, it really does take a village to keep this business running smooth. A special shoutout to my mom as she helps run this business with me. Such a fun “Mother /Daughter Duo”!! We specialize in dessert spreads, custom cakes, and now newly have our mobile dessert trailer! The Mobile trailer is a converted Horse trailer, in which we market the business by attending farmers markets, open houses, pop-up events, and weddings! It’s a fun, trendy, and cute way to serve desserts that has been a hit! Overall, we pride ourselves on being a reliable, honorable, and professional home bakery to work with. We cater to ALL events!
