Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Jackson.
Hi Holly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a DV and SA survivor who was once homeless and in need, it is my mission and goal to give back to those in need with no judgements or hesitation.
I travel all over the USA looking for opportunities to install our walls of love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There is so much need out there and not enough funding. Covid made things hard but this current economic climate is catastrophic for non profits and those trying to serve the communities as a whole. We have tried to combat this by partnering with other organizations to have more reach and shared costs.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside of my nonprofit profit, I work in the manufacturing arena. We make loadbanks for data centers.
Im proud of the culture that my employer, Avtron Power Solutions, fosters as we give back to the community year round!
As far as my non profit, Im proud of the amount of people we have helped in the past 7.5 years. Over 1.5 million individuals have been assisted through our gracious donors and volunteers.
One other really cool thing is that we broke a Guinness Book of World Records ladt October by collecting the most pairs of socks in one hour. The goal was 2500 pairs and we smashed that by collecting over 17k!
What makes you happy?
I love being able to change people’s lives for the better.
Seeing cancer patients light up with our “Making the Holidays Bearable ” program is amazing.
Adopting nursing homes, schools and veterans is fulfilling as well.
Most importantly, knowing we are helping to keep people safe and warm is such a blessing.
