Meet Shawanna Jackson of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawanna Jackson.

Hi Shawanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For so many years, my life centered around being a mother and making sure my son had everything he needed. As a single parent, there were countless sacrifices, long days, and moments where I put my own desires on hold to create the best life possible for him.

Now, that my son has graduated, I’ve entered a new season of life, one where I’m finally allowing myself to explore, grow, and embrace the things that truly make me happy. One of those things is traveling. Traveling has become more than just visiting new places; it’s been healing, refreshing, and a reminder that it’s okay to pour back into yourself after years of pouring into others.

My journey has taught me that while parenting requires sacrifice, it’s also important to remember yourself along the way. Taking time for yourself is not selfish, it’s necessary. Your hard work matters, your sacrifices are seen, and you deserve joy too. This chapter of my life is about balance, peace and purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been an easy road. My journey as a single parent came with many sacrifices, challenges, setbacks, and moments where I had to be strong even when I felt tired. There were seasons where I poured everything I had into raising my son and making sure he had the support, love, and opportunities he needed to succeed. Through it all, I learned resilience, patience, faith, and determination.

Every obstacle and every battle helped shape me into the woman I am today. The difficult moments didn’t break me, they built me. They made me stronger, wiser, and more appreciative of life and the blessings that come with perseverance.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I truly love creating content that motivates and encourages people to get out and experience life, to do the things that genuinely make them happy and pour back into themselves. Self-love looks different for everyone, and sometimes the very things that bring you peace or joy may not make sense to others. There will be moments when fear tries to stop you, when doubt creeps in, or when you wonder if you should even take the chance. But do it anyway. Life is too short to keep putting your happiness on hold. Step out, explore, heal, grow, and give yourself permission to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard for.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is my parents throwing us birthday parties. Most of them included clowns who would entertain us with fun magic tricks and create the cutest balloon characters.
