Meet Dominique Salery of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Salery.

Hi Dominique, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
What began as a simple passion for helping others gradually evolved into a lifelong career. In January 2016, I officially launched my business with a vision to create memorable experiences for clients during some of the most important moments of their lives. In the beginning, I worked with only a handful of full-service planning clients while primarily focusing on day-of coordination services.

As my passion for the wedding and events industry continued to grow, I partnered with a professional decorator and spent three years learning the creative side of event design. When the COVID-19 pandemic shifted the industry, I saw it as an opportunity to expand my skills and step fully into the world of decorating myself. Since then, I have continued to grow, refine my craft, and elevate my business year after year.

Like many entrepreneurs, the journey has come with both challenges and triumphs, but every experience has shaped me into the planner and designer I am today. Through it all, my love for creating beautiful celebrations and helping clients bring their visions to life has remained the heart of my business — and I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything in the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
“No, it wasn’t always a smooth road. Throughout my career and personal growth, I’ve faced challenges that tested my patience, communication skills, and ability to adapt. There were times I had to learn new processes quickly, manage difficult situations, and overcome obstacles while still maintaining professionalism. However, those experiences helped me become more resilient, better at problem-solving, and more confident in handling pressure. I believe challenges are important because they help you grow, and every obstacle I faced taught me something valuable that made me stronger in my work ethic and mindset.”

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
“I’ve been a wedding planner and event designer for 10 years, specializing in planning, coordinating, and decorating weddings and special events. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with clients to bring their vision to life while managing timelines, vendors, décor setup, and event logistics from start to finish. My experience has taught me how to stay organized, communicate effectively, and handle high-pressure situations professionally. I truly enjoy creating memorable experiences for clients and making sure every detail comes together smoothly on their special day.”

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I didn’t really have the opportunity to experience having a mentor throughout my journey, but I would still love to have one because I believe there’s always more to learn and room to grow. Being in the wedding planning and event design industry for 10 years has taught me a lot through hands-on experience, but I understand that growth never stops. I’m always open to learning new techniques, improving my skills, and gaining knowledge from people with different experiences and perspectives.”
