Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray’zen Dixon.
Hi Ray’zen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name inspired me to start a business/ personal brand. After seeing my mother work hard my entire life, I just knew a 9-5 wasn’t the end goal for me. I started an eyelash strip line in 2019. Launched it 2020, fats forward it went really went and I seen the support and potential I could bring to the industry. Not only the industry I also wanted to make my younger self proud and be an inspiration to other young women that they could do whatever they put their mind to. I was residing in Minneapolis Minnesota and I knew I wanted more just didn’t exactly know how to go about it so I moved to Dallas TX expanded my services and made more connections.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s started smooth and then got bumpy. I moved to Texas with all my belongings, my apartment, suite and truck. There were SO MANY obstacles but I’ve overcome every single one of them. I moved with no official destination, my car was wrecked before moving, lived in a hotel for 2 months but I was willing to move with faith and do “whatever it took”
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an esthetician. I specialize in eyelash extensions and corrective skin care treatments.
I’m most proud of me for being brave and encouraging other women mainly but men too to just believe in themselves and to follow their dreams.
What sets me apart is my work ethic and my ambition. I always tell my clients I’m available for them 24/7 if my boss would tell me to come in for mandatory overtime I’d be there so yes I can service you at 6am before work or 11pm after work.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by how you overcome adversity. This journey taught me life is about WHO you become never the destination
