Today we’d like to introduce you to Christianah Adejokun.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
People often see the titles first. Miss Grand USA 3rd Runner-Up, Miss Grand Southern States, chemist, TEDx speaker, public speaker. But my journey has always been rooted in purpose and impact.
I earned my degree in Chemistry from Texas Tech University and later completed my MBA in Health Organization Management. While building my career as a chemist and laboratory technologist, I discovered that speaking was where I truly found my fit.
What started with competitive speaking competitions grew into opportunities to speak at hospitals, universities, leadership events, and the Uplift Education Convocation, along with delivering a TEDx talk. Through every stage, my goal has been the same: to inspire people to believe in themselves and walk confidently in their purpose.
My platform, “Find Your FIT Forever Improving Tomorrow,” was created from my own journey of learning that your passion can be your purpose and be utilized to better the lives of others. I have learned that purpose is often found in embracing every part of who you are.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was balancing science, graduate school, speaking, leadership, and pageantry while also learning to trust my voice.
People often expect you to choose one path, but I never wanted to limit myself. There were moments of self doubt, burnout, and pressure behind the scenes, especially while navigating highly competitive spaces.
Public speaking itself pushed me out of my comfort zone (since starting in 2nd grade), but those experiences helped me build confidence and recognize the impact my story could have on others.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work as a chemist and laboratory technologist, but I am also widely known for my work as a public speaker, advocate, and titleholder. I currently hold the title of Miss Grand Southern States and was honored to place as 3rd Runner-Up at Miss Grand USA.
My work is centered around leadership, confidence, and purpose driven impact. Through my platform, “Find Your FIT Forever Improving Tomorrow,” I speak at hospitals, universities, leadership events, and conferences about self confidence, growth, and discovering purpose. I have also delivered a TEDx talk and spoken at the Uplift Education Convocation.
What I am most proud of is building a career that reflects every part of who I am. I earned my Chemistry degree from Texas Tech University and later completed my MBA in Health Organization Management, while continuing to grow as a speaker and leader.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge worlds that people do not always expect to see together. I am equally passionate about science, speaking, service, and mentorship, and I use each platform I have to inspire others to believe in themselves and pursue their purpose confidently.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe risk taking is necessary for growth. Some of the biggest opportunities in my life came from saying yes before I felt completely ready.
Choosing to pursue pageantry and public speaking while also building a career in science was a major risk because those worlds are often seen as very different. Still, I knew I did not want to live my life based on other people’s limitations.
Competing at Miss Grand USA was another risk because it placed me in a highly visible environment where people constantly evaluate you. But it helped me grow tremendously in confidence, leadership, and communication.
I also took risks every time I stepped onto a stage to share my story. Whether speaking at hospitals, universities, or leadership events, I learned that growth usually happens in the moments that challenge you the most.
To me, risk is about betting on your potential. “Find Your FIT” is rooted in that idea. Sometimes the life you are meant for exists on the other side of fear, and you have to trust yourself enough to go after it anyway.
