Inspiring Conversations with Moust Camara of Lyric Boost / Rhythmarkable, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moust Camara.

Hi Moust, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up in Jersey City, NJ, I had a creative entrepreneurial drive at a young age. What started off as creating comic books and music compositions evolved into launching early business ventures as a teenager.

Throughout my early 20s, me and my older brother operated a streetwear clothing line, a web development agency and an eCommerce templates business. We even wrote a book in 2011 called ‘Launch a Kick-Ass T-Shirt Brand’, which served as a guide to help thousands of aspiring clothing brand owners.

After a successful multi-year run, we eventually encountered a turbulent financial period. Upon experiencing challenges with keeping our business operations afloat, we realized we needed to pivot.

In 2017, I went on to work at JPMorganChase in New York City as a web developer. Drawing from my entrepreneurial experience, I was able to reinvent myself as an innovator in Corporate America.

A couple years into my corporate career, I started to approach my craft as a musician more seriously. I dedicated nights and weekends to guitar practice and music production, building an extensive instrumental catalog.

In order to stand out in the competitive indie music industry landscape, in 2021, I leveraged my software engineering skills to build an app called Lyric Boost. With the simple concept of a ‘freestyle word game’, the app was designed to help artists break through writer’s block.

In 2022, I took on a new role at JPMC, moving across the country to Plano, TX. For a couple years, the Lyric Boost app took a backseat as I spent time making connections and enjoying life in the DFW area.

In 2025, after seeing the possibilities with AI and its impact on software engineering and entrepreneurship, I decided to rebuild the Lyric Boost app, this time with far better technology and abilities.

Now, with the relaunch of Lyric Boost, I’m poised to make an impact helping fellow independent musicians. On top of that, I’m leveraging my two decades of experience to coach and consult other entrepreneurs on bringing their apps to life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t always been linear. Over the years, I’ve gone through major transitions, with different chapters requiring me to adapt in different ways. There were periods where certain ambitions had to take a backseat while I focused on stability, growth, and navigating new environments.

One of the biggest challenges has been staying patient and continuing to build through those transitions without losing sight of the bigger vision. It’s been rewarding to finally see projects like Lyric Boost take form and attract a user base.

As you know, we’re big fans of Lyric Boost / Rhythmarkable, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I build music tech apps and digital products.

My flagship product is Lyric Boost, a songwriting app that helps rappers, singers, and songwriters get unstuck, develop lyric ideas, and finish more songs.

I also work with entrepreneurs and business owners as a product strategist and fractional CTO.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success is rarely about one big break. More often, it’s built through focus, adaptability, and consistent execution.

I’ve learned the importance of building a strong foundation, developing the ability to learn quickly, and using deep work to create real progress. Skill stacking, or developing a range of useful skills that strengthen each other, has also been a major advantage.

Most importantly, I’ve learned that ideas mean very little without action. Momentum comes from execution, refinement, and staying in the game long enough to compound results.
