Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Walker.
Hi chelsea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born on July 11, 1996, and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, I grew up in a single-mother household with two siblings—one on my father’s side and one on my mother’s side. While we were never extremely close, family still played a role in shaping who I am today. Although my mother carried most of the responsibility of raising me, my father was present for most of my life as well.
As a child, I always had a passion for dancing and performing. I participated in ballet, cheerleading, and later joined the dance team during my school years. I graduated from Richland High School in 2014 at just 17 years old. After high school, I explored modeling and enjoyed expressing myself creatively through fashion and confidence.
At 21, my life changed when I became a mother for the first time. I later had another son and a daughter, and motherhood quickly became the center of my world. Transitioning into life as a single mother came with many unexpected challenges, especially going from a comfortable lifestyle to having to rebuild and navigate life on my own. Despite the hardships, I continue to push forward with strength, determination, and the goal of creating a better future for myself and my children.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a single mother of three while trying to build businesses from the ground up has come with many struggles and sacrifices. One of the biggest challenges I face with Aurora Essence LLC is building clientele while providing in-home esthetic services, as many people are hesitant or unsure about trusting home-based businesses. Along with trying to grow my career, I also face everyday life challenges such as finding reliable childcare, balancing motherhood and work, and navigating personal and financial hardships.
Despite these obstacles, I continue to push forward because I want to create stability, success, and a legacy for my children. Through Aurora Essence LLC and Ill Hurt Later LLC (IHL), I am working toward building something meaningful that reflects perseverance, ambition, and hope for a better future.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Aurora Essence LLC, an esthetics business focused on beauty, confidence, and self-care. Alongside that, I co-own Ill Hurt Later LLC (IHL), a family clothing brand built on the message that “Happiness is a choice.” IHL is more than fashion—it represents resilience, self-expression, and community for people from all walks of life.
My goal is to leave behind more than just businesses. I want to leave a legacy of strength, ambition, and inspiration for my children and others who come from similar beginnings.
Many people around Fort Worth, Texas, recognize me from appearing in several music videos with a local artist. Through modeling, dancing, and being involved in the local music scene, I became known for my personality, confidence, and creative presence on camera. Those experiences helped me build connections, gain exposure, and express myself artistically while becoming more recognized within my city and community.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
