Hidden Gems: Meet Amber Bechthold of Aesthetic Compliance Experts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Bechthold.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Honestly? My story starts the same way a lot of women’s stories in this industry start. I fell in love with medical aesthetics. The artistry, the science, the way you can genuinely change how someone feels when they look in the mirror. There is nothing like watching a patient sit up after a treatment and actually see themselves again. That moment never gets old for me.

But the longer I worked in this space, the more I started noticing something that really bothered me. So many incredible clinicians, brilliant injectors, gifted aestheticians, passionate clinic owners, were operating without any real compliance foundation underneath them. Not because they didn’t care. They cared deeply. They just didn’t know what they didn’t know. And the resources out there were either intimidating legal jargon written by people who’d never set foot in a treatment room, or they were so generic they were almost useless for an aesthetics practice.

I kept thinking, somebody needs to build this for them. Somebody who actually speaks the language. Somebody who’s been in the room.

So I did.

Aesthetic Compliance Experts was born out of that frustration and honestly, out of a lot of love for this industry and the people in it. I wanted to create something that felt like having a really smart, really kind friend in your corner who happens to know compliance inside and out. Not scary. Not preachy. Just clear, beautiful, and genuinely useful.

Today, ACE serves clinics across 44 states, and we’ve built what I truly believe is the most thoughtful compliance system this industry has ever seen- The ACE Core Compliance System, our five-manual flagship delivered in our signature discbound format. Don’t Risk It, Just Disc It!™ We’re surrounded by an incredible advisory team, Dr. Bertram Prosser, Jwalant Patel PA-C, and our outside legal counsel Doris Dike, Esq. and every single thing we put out is built with the practitioner in mind first.

I’m still that same girl who fell in love with this industry. I just get to protect it now too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, smooth road? No. Blessed. Let me be honest with you.

Building ACE has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done and also one of the hardest. I think there’s this myth that if you have a good idea and you work hard, the path just kind of opens up for you. That has not been my experience. The path opens because you show up every single day and make it open, even on the days you want to cry into your coffee.

One of the biggest struggles, honestly, has been being a woman building authority in a space where compliance has historically been delivered by big firms, attorneys, and corporate voices. I’m a founder. I’m a woman. I’m building something genuinely innovative a productized, beautifully designed, discbound compliance system in an industry that’s used to PDFs and panic. There were a lot of moments early on where I had to decide: am I going to shrink to fit what people expect, or am I going to keep building what I know this industry actually needs? I chose the second one, and I’d choose it again, but it wasn’t always comfortable.

The other big challenge has been the weight of getting it right. Compliance isn’t a vibe, it’s people’s licenses, their livelihoods, their patients’ safety. So even on the days I was exhausted, I couldn’t cut corners. Every framework, every manual, every section had to be researched, vetted, cross-checked with our advisory team- Dr. Bertram Prosser, Jwalant Patel PA-C, and our outside legal counsel Doris Dike, Esq. That kind of rigor takes time, and as a founder, time is the one thing you never have enough of. EVER.

And then there’s the emotional piece nobody talks about. Entrepreneurship can be lonely. You’re carrying the vision, the payroll, the strategy, the brand, the late-night doubt, all of it. There were absolutely moments I questioned whether I was crazy for trying to build something this ambitious. But every time I’d get a message from a clinic owner saying “I finally feel like I’m not alone in this,” I’d remember exactly why I started.

The truth is, the struggles didn’t break me. They sharpened me. And they made ACE what it is today, something built with real heart, real expertise, and real understanding of what this industry has been missing.

I wouldn’t trade a single hard day. They all became part of the foundation.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aesthetic Compliance Experts (ACE) is a compliance company built specifically for the medical aesthetics industry- and I mean specifically. We serve medical aesthetic practices, and wellness clinics across the country, currently supporting clients in 44 states.

Here’s what makes us different: most compliance support out there is either generic, intimidating, or written by people who’ve never actually worked inside an aesthetics practice. I built ACE because I’ve lived this industry. I know what it feels like to stand in a treatment room and provide treatments. I know the questions clinic owners are afraid to ask out loud. I know where the regulatory gaps are because I’ve watched smart, capable practitioners fall into them, not from negligence, but from genuinely not having the right resources in front of them.

So we built the resources. And we built them beautifully.

Our flagship is The ACE Core Compliance System — a comprehensive, multi-manual compliance system delivered in our signature discbound format. It’s a totally new category in this space. Instead of static PDFs buried on a server somewhere, our system lives on the counter. Clinics can actually use it. They can add pages, customize, pull what matters into a training meeting, tab what’s relevant to their state. It’s compliance that breathes with the practice.

Our tagline says it best: Don’t Risk It, Just Disc It!™

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the team we’ve built around this work. Compliance in aesthetics isn’t a one-discipline problem — it’s medical, legal, clinical, and operational. So our advisory bench reflects that:

• Dr. Bertram Prosser, MD — Physician Advisor
• Jwalant Patel, PA-C — PA Advisor & Clinical Education Specialist
• Doris Dike, Esq. of Dike Law Group PLLC — Outside Legal Counsel

That kind of multidisciplinary credibility is rare in our space, and it’s intentional. Clinics deserve more than one perspective when their license and their patients are on the line.

What I want your readers to know is this: ACE isn’t compliance the way you’ve experienced it before. It’s not scary. It’s not dry. It’s not built to make you feel small for what you don’t know yet. It’s warm, it’s clear, it’s gorgeous, and it’s genuinely on your side. We’re here to protect this industry — and the women and clinicians building inside of it — with the same care and intention they bring to their own patients every single day.

That’s ACE. And we’re just getting started.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Okay, this one makes me laugh because it’s so on brand for me once you hear it, but most people don’t see it coming.

The entire format of ACE’s flagship product was inspired by planner culture.

Yep. Happy Planner. The whole beautiful, disc-bound, tab-it-up, customize-your-life world that women have quietly been obsessed with for years. I’d watch women — brilliant, busy, ambitious women, pour real love and intention into organizing their personal lives with these gorgeous disc-bound systems. Color tabs. Pretty inserts. Pages they could add and rearrange. Something that actually felt good to open.

And then I’d look at how this same industry was handing those same women their compliance materials. A 200-page PDF. A dusty three-ring binder from 2009. A Dropbox folder nobody ever opens. Cold. Clinical. Forgettable.

And I just thought… why?

Why does the most important paperwork in a clinic, the stuff that protects licenses, patients, livelihoods, get the ugliest, most uninspired delivery? Why are we asking women to take compliance seriously when nothing about how it’s been packaged respects them?

So I borrowed the love language of planner culture and brought it into compliance. The disc-bound format wasn’t a gimmick. It was a love letter to the way the women in this industry actually live, work, and organize. It says, your compliance deserves to feel as intentional as the rest of your life. And so do you.

That’s where Don’t Risk It, Just Disc It!™ was born.

People expect compliance founders to come from a stiff, corporate, legal world. I came from one that believes a beautiful tab can actually change how someone shows up to their work.

And honestly? It does.
