Hi CeCe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
CeCe Godbolt
National Gospel Recording Artist & Award-Winning Actress
CeCe Godbolt a native of Camden Arkansas, currently residing in Mesquite, TX where she is an active member of Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Caleb Turner where she serves on the Praise & Worship Team, Praise & Worship Leader, Mass Choir and Women’s Choir. She is a Graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a B.A. in Business. CeCe has been singing since the age of 5 years old. She started in her home church in Camden Arkansas at Zion Hill Baptist singing in the Sunbeam choir and Junior Choir. She was a member of the NLU IDE (Interdenominational Ensemble) choir in college under the direction of the late Dr. Louis Nabors. Also, CeCe has had the Ministry Opportunities to Minister in song in Prisons throughout the State of TX with the Prison Fellowship Ministry Group.
Anointed, powerful, hard-working, and persistent are not always adjectives that can be used to describe the same person. However, for CeCe Godbolt, those adjectives are just some of the words one can use to describe this dynamic woman and servant of God. CeCe is a rising star in the Gospel Music Industry, known for her soulful voice and powerful expression of faith. Psalmist, Praise & Worship Leader, Songwriter, and Actress are the roles she plays to shine her light and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. While she is consistently focused on working for the Kingdom, she is also a woman with a huge heart who loves God and people.
CeCe pours her heart and soul into her music, delivering a message of hope and inspiration that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. CeCe’s perseverance and authenticity have paid off, and she is now making a name for herself in the Gospel Music World.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nov. 2019 was a turning point in my life. Having to change Management, a new CD released, efforts to promote it and marketing I had to cry out to the Lord for direction and guidance as to HOW this would happen without management in place. Reminding myself that my CD was titled “Make It Happen” so I had no choice but to step out on FAITH and Make It Happen. The Lord had to remind me that the “solution was there long before the problem”. He revealed to me that your husband will manage you again, Okay Lord!!! I spoke with my Husband, and he was receptive to the idea, I had to trust and believe that as the Lord spoke to me, he would speak to my husband, direct and guide him on the path that we needed to take. I believed in US and was up for the challenge!!! With 2020 just around the corner, we were READY!!! But here comes COVID-19 and things changed. With churches closing, ministry events rescheduled, and theaters closing I felt defeated, but I didn’t give up!! When I tell you 2020 was a true blessing, my GOD!!! Even in a pandemic God blessed with many Ministry Opportunities (Virtually), Radio Interviews, featured in many Magazines, music played around the world, and now working on a new Single just to name a few. I am reminded that Who God calls he also equips for the Journey. The enemy will always try to stop you but through my trials and tribulations, I have had to fully trust GOD.
Proverbs: 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thy own understanding but in all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct my path.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
National Gospel Recording Artist & Actress, songwriter, Psalmist, Praise and Worship Leader, child of God are the roles that I play in order to shine my light and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. While consistently focused on working for the Kingdom, I am also a woman with a huge heart who loves God and people. My desire in all of this is to reach the least, lost and the broken through the ministry of song. Heaven rejoices over one soul and if I can do it through my singing and acting, I know that I am fulfilling Gods will for my life.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My childhood, memory incudes so many fun and good times in an amazing home with my loving and caring Mother Marilyn Godbolt. Playing softball at Carnes Park during the summertime, only if your grades were good LOL! Attending Vacation bible School at Zion Hill Baptist Church where I attended. Singing in the Junior Choir, Church Christmas and Easter Productions! Being a part of the Girl Scouts and attending Camp! Being in the Camden High School Band and traveling to the football games on Friday evenings! Singing in weddings, concerts and church events at an early age.
