Check Out Jordon Halleck’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordon Halleck.

Hi Jordon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely! My love for food and media creation has been part of my DNA for as long as I can remember.

Growing up, food was a big part of my life. Shared meals were a daily source of connection in my family, whether it was breakfast before school, dinner together after work, or helping my mom bake Christmas cookies in the kitchen. From an early age, I loved trying new foods and discovering different flavors, and that curiosity naturally grew into a deep appreciation for experiencing other cultures through food. I’ve always believed food is one of the easiest ways to experience another culture without ever leaving your city. To me, food has become one of the best ways to connect with people, celebrate traditions, and create memories.

At the same time, I was constantly drawn to creating and sharing media. I experimented with early YouTube videos, edited silly skits with friends, and taught myself how to make content long before social media became what it is today. After stepping away from posting during college and focusing on life, I genuinely thought that chapter of my life was over. Then in late 2022, downloading TikTok unexpectedly brought me back to something I’d loved since I was a kid. I started posting fun recipe videos from my kitchen, and what began as a creative outlet eventually evolved into exploring Dallas’ food scene and helping people discover hidden gems, local favorites, and cuisines they may not have tried otherwise. The coolest part is getting to combine creativity with community and celebrate the incredible range of cuisines and stories Dallas has to offer.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges for me has honestly been finding my voice and figuring out what I wanted my online brand to actually be. When I first started posting, I was really just experimenting and throwing things at the wall(or algorithm in this case) to see what stuck. I made silly comedy videos, tried different food-related formats, and experimented with a lot of the trendy editing styles and content ideas that were popular at the time. While some of it was fun, a lot of it did not feel fully authentic to what I actually wanted to create long term. Looking back, I realized I had felt a very similar lack of direction before, and honestly, that uncertainty was a big part of why I stopped creating altogether back in college. At the same time, I think finding your voice is one of those challenges that can end up being really rewarding because it pushes you to try new things, experiment, and ultimately grow as a creator. I think a lot of creators go through that phase of trying to figure out what feels genuine versus what simply performs well online.

It was not until 2025, when I started partnering with local businesses, that the vision really started to click into place. I realized the part I enjoyed most was highlighting great local spots, helping people discover hidden gems, and creating content that genuinely supported the incredible food community we have in Dallas. That shift helped me become much more intentional with what I post and gave me a much clearer sense of purpose. In a lot of ways, it felt like finally finding the direction I had been searching for all along, and it ultimately shaped my social media page into what it is today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At its core, what I do is create content centered around discovering and celebrating great food, with a big focus on local restaurants and small businesses here in Dallas. I specialize in highlighting hidden gems, local favorites, and cuisines people may not have tried before, while making food feel approachable and exciting. I also love to travel to new cities and document my food adventures outside of Dallas. I genuinely love helping people find their next favorite meal, introducing them to places they may have otherwise overlooked, and sharing the stories and passion behind the businesses that make Dallas such an incredible food city. A huge part of what I enjoy is getting to experience different cultures through food and helping others feel excited to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new.

What I am probably most proud of is the way this has grown into something that genuinely supports local businesses and builds community. There is something really special about hearing that someone visited a restaurant because of one of my videos, found a new favorite spot, or felt inspired to try a cuisine for the first time. I also feel incredibly grateful to have built relationships with local businesses and be trusted to help showcase the passion and hard work behind what they do. More than anything, I want my content to help people feel excited about exploring Dallas and discovering just how much incredible food our city has to offer. I’m always looking to share my love of food.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think authenticity and honesty have probably been the most important qualities to my success. Social media can sometimes feel very curated, and it is easy to fall into the trap of creating what you think people want to see instead of what actually feels true to who you are. That was honestly one of my biggest struggles early on, trying different styles of content and figuring out what genuinely felt like me. I also try my best to sprinkle in my own sense of humor whenever I can.

I also try really hard to approach this with a sense of gratitude and responsibility. I never want to take for granted any opportunity that comes my way, especially when local businesses trust me to tell part of their story or share something they have worked incredibly hard to build. People are at the center of what I do, and every recommendation I make is somewhere I have personally been and food that I genuinely enjoyed. I am not a food critic with formal culinary training or industry credentials. I am just a regular person who loves food and wants to be a positive force in the community by celebrating the beauty of food and helping people discover something they might genuinely enjoy.
