Meet Leonardo Mr. Bubbles of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leonardo Mr. Bubbles.

Leonardo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve spent 25 years in the entertainment industry, and about four years ago, I made a significant transition into becoming a Bubbleologist—a Bubble Artist and Performer, which many people might not be familiar with. I was looking for a fresh direction within the entertainment realm, something unique. A good friend /mentor of mine, Mike W, introduced me to this fascinating world. After witnessing my first bubble performance, I was completely captivated. I felt so inspired that I decided to put my DJ lighting career on hold to pursue bubble shows, believing wholeheartedly in the potential impact of this art form.

My mission is to spread joy and happiness. It may sound unconventional, but I find immense fulfillment in making people smile. I launched this business from scratch in the DFW area. Initially, when I introduced the concept, many were skeptical and confused, often associating it with the small, inexpensive bubbles you find at dollar stores or a foam party. . However, I envisioned a different approach—one that elevated the art of bubble performance to a level never seen in this region.- hence Next Level Bubbles!!

I invested time in researching and developing specialized equipment and testing various bubble solutions. I started doing free pop-up shows to gain exposure and create content. A pivotal moment for me was my appearance on the NBC5 Texas Today Show with Cleo Greene. I owe a huge thanks to those who supported me along the way, including Swan 7 Productions, Just4U Wedding Planning, Amanda Moriah Events, the Springtown Chamber of Commerce (Amy, Terri, Mary, Sharon, Deni), City of Springtown, School board, local churches, businesses such as the Nutrition Lodge with Angie who gave me my first chance and many others. Their belief in my vision was instrumental.

While some initially thought I was a bit eccentric, as I continued to produce events and showcase my work, people began to recognize the value in what I was doing. My reputation grew, and I found that many were eager to support my endeavors simply because of my previous work. I’ve always been reluctant to ask for favors, but in this venture, I reached out for help, and I’m grateful for everyone who opened doors for me.

The journey hasn’t been without its challenges; many still struggle to understand this art form. Yet, we’ve built a dedicated fan base, and now, the phone doesn’t stop ringing. What we do goes beyond just creating bubbles—it’s about making memories and having a real impact. We’ve had touching moments, such as when nonverbal autistic children have spoken for the first time, leaving their parents overwhelmed with gratitude.

I cherish the experiences and opportunities that have come our way. We’ve brought joy to thousands of people through our indoor and outdoor bubble shows, and we continue to reach and inspire more each week.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely, there have been numerous ongoing challenges. The primary hurdle is helping people distinguish what we do from their preconceived notions. This isn’t simply a foam party or a bubble machine spitting out small bubbles. We create bubble art that machines can’t replicate—crafting giant bubbles sometimes as large as a school bus, and even producing bubbles within bubbles!

Another significant challenge has been gaining access to schools, as there’s often a misunderstanding about what our performances entail. Additionally, Texas weather can be unpredictable, which forced us to develop two distinct shows: one for outdoor settings and another for indoor venues. Both are equally engaging yet require different skill sets. We’re continually working to educate audiences about what a soap bubble show truly is.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in creating captivating bubble art and performances that go beyond traditional bubble shows. What sets me apart is my ability to craft unique experiences that defy expectations—transforming bubbles into mesmerizing art forms. I’m known for producing giant bubbles, sometimes reaching the size of a school bus, and even creating bubbles within bubbles, which truly astonishes audiences of all ages.

What I’m most proud of is the joy and wonder my shows bring to people, especially in moments that can be deeply impactful. From ages 0 to 100 and all abilities. For instance, witnessing nonverbal autistic children speak for the first time during a performance is incredibly rewarding. It reinforces my belief that my mission is to make people happy and create lasting memories.

Additionally, my commitment to education and outreach distinguishes my work. I constantly strive to inform audiences about the art of soap bubbles and how it differs from typical foam parties or bubble machines. By offering tailored shows for both indoor and outdoor settings, I ensure that everyone can enjoy the magic of bubbles, regardless of the environment.

Overall, it’s the combination of artistry, joy, and education that defines my work and makes it a truly unique experience.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I envision the bubble art industry continuing to thrive. There will always be children, and every adult retains a bit of their inner child, which keeps the demand for whimsical and imaginative experiences alive. As we push the boundaries of what bubble art can achieve, I believe we’ll continue to astonish audiences with innovative performances and techniques.

I anticipate a few notable trends and shifts:

– **Increased Popularity of Unique Experiences**: As people seek out distinctive and memorable entertainment options, bubble shows will stand out as a captivating choice for events, festivals, and celebrations.

– **Integration of Technology**: We may see advancements in technology that enhance bubble performances, such as interactive elements or augmented reality, making the experience even more immersive and engaging.

– **Educational Collaborations**: Partnerships with schools and educational organizations could grow, as more educators recognize the value of incorporating art and science into learning through engaging bubble presentations.

– **Sustainability Focus**: With a growing emphasis on eco-friendliness, there will likely be a shift towards using more sustainable materials and bubble solutions that are safe for the environment.

Ultimately, the combination of creativity, joy, and a commitment to innovation will ensure that bubble art continues to capture imaginations and create lasting memories for years to come.
